Pros

The developers are very good and experienced. Team leads provide mentoring and training to newcomers and less experienced employees. Every week you get some time dedicated to learning new things, company also provides online resources (like Pluralsight) and trips to conferences. A lot of opportunities to progress, you'll receive great support from the company. Getting the equipment/software you need is not an issue. A lot of freedom and flexibility in development. 2 yearly workshops where we come together talk about what works, what doesn't and what we need to do to make it work.

Cons

Planning on a larger scale is sometimes an issue. Sometimes you work on multiple projects, quite annoying when you have to jump from one project to the next on short notice. Agile development in theory but not so much in practice (depends on what kind of team mates you're paired up with). Too many channels of communication like emails, JIRA, Confluence, Skype and excel sheets, it gets difficult to track all the information and find what you need. A lot of maintenance work on big lucrative projects, some of them are quite old or difficult to work on.
