I have been working at Kroger full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

High associate engagement and appreciation for the contributions of associates. Good benefits including, medical, dental, vision, 401k contributions and more.

    Cons

None. Except, some may plateau with few options for growth. However, If you are looking for a workplace of world class standards and staying power, this is the one. Many associates retire here with 40+ years with the company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to strive in breaking barriers to reach new heights.

    Pros

My coworkers are great! Management SUCKS! Training SUCKS pay SUCKS

    Cons

Low pay, management schedules less people than needed on purpose. They treat workers like trash.

    Advice to Management

Buy a friggin clue! Try to do the job instead of making more stupid rules and cutting hours.

I have been working at Kroger part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with, able to get as many hours as I want because I am one of the few people who want to do overnights.

    Cons

Customer's can be extremely oblivious. Don't always feel appreciated by upper management, but they have gotten better over time.

    Advice to Management

Remember to make your employees feel appreciated

I have been working at Kroger part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a hard labor job if you are desperate but I'm sure there are worse jobs like cleaning dog cages or washing dishes

    Cons

Lots of bully co workers and unfriendly aloof and not compassionate, empathetic , understanding or helpful - this was my experience and impression of the general working culture- I'm sure their are small cliques and that is not team work! I find it difficult to get help when I have questions and customers are waiting and getting inpatient and rude towards me. Then if I finally get someone -they often act like it bothers them to help me- they act fast and don't teach so the problem comes up again and again-FRUSTRATING! few co workers introduce or talk to you. I hate it. Work is hard and pay is low and I'm expected to endure bully coworkers and supervisor while I'm working my butt off for them.

    Advice to Management

Teach coworkers to respect each other- help new people- teach them how to do something-make them feel welcome-no bullying allowed-have patience-make sure new people have training on everything especially potential problems- like what to do when coupon problems come up and make sure new folks have a go to person nearby- customers hate to wait while you try to find someone willing to help. It's very hard to be timely getting help when you know no one at all. New people should not feel like crying due to how they are being treated by other Kroger folks!

I have been working at Kroger full-time

    Pros

Good benefits once you get them.

    Cons

Takes a while to get full time status and to finally get those good benefits. From my experience, will take advantage of those who are willing to work.

  8. "Make it past 6 months to be worthwhile."

    Pros

They offer decent benefits, pay raises based on hours employed, offer coaching opportunities, and the chance to move up internally.

    Cons

They often play favorites, tend to have double standards, expect to work long hours with little to no acknowledgement, assistance, or appreciation.

    Advice to Management

ACKNOWLEDGE, ASSIST, AND APPRECIATE ASSOCIATES.... IT GOES A LONG WAY TOWARDS BETTER PRODUCTIVITY AND WILLINGNESS TO OVER ACHIEVE.

    Pros

Good environment. Nice management. Very easy job with little to no difficulties. Very flexible and understanding about school or other work schedule.

    Cons

Small raises, nothing significant at all. I can’t really think of anything else but I have a twenty word minimum.
