The owner is obviously a top expert in income tax law and how to prepare income tax returns. Listening to the owner with clients was an education within itself. Ability to train by pulling files and reworking them was most educational.
Personal training and supervision lacking. Owner far too busy to really put time into developing the tax preparer.
Advice to Management
Take time to personally pass on some of that exceptional knowledge to the tax preparer who you are paying. Closely supervise during the early stages of employment to make sure tax preparer understands what you expect of him/her. Not everyone does it the same way as you do, nor do many people know as much as you do - so, impart and verify your knowledge is being received and understood.
