I have been working at Kum & Go full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Okay pay. Okay insurance. Bonus is there but out of reach for most. The SSC most of the time has no idea what's like when stores go wrong

    Cons

General Managers have to find their own staff shortage or fill the shift themselves. So in other words if you worked a 12 hour day....went home..... then get a call that your overnighter is not coming in and you can't get anybody to cover the shift....guess what??? Your working that overnight and then your own management shift.

    Advice to Management

Have a support staff to help GMs cover the store

    I worked at Kum & Go full-time

    Pros

You learn a lot about time management, communication, and working with a team.

    Cons

High turnover, unmotivated employees, upper level mismanagement, and paycheck staggering (once a 3 week stagger).

    Advice to Management

Get hiring in order and payroll in order.

    Pros

As a manager you work 10 hour days but still get off around 3 or 4, paid holidays, room to grow within company, Christmas club, great benefits, employee training and hiring program

    Cons

open 24-7 so if you don't staff your store accordingly you could be working ALOT

I worked at Kum & Go full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They do give loans to their workers and charged no interest customers where great and before I left they finally started doing half price food for workers and free fruit and drinks while you work and employees get 8 dollar pizzas any time pay is average

    Cons

Communication is horrible, this company believes in running short staffed and weird hours so be prepared to basically stand at a register for 8 hours with mounds of people, managers tend to business in a very unprofessional manner all and all if you need a job till you can find one better that would actually lead to a great career k um and go would be a great dead end buffer. High turn over rate due to company flaws and store management

    Advice to Management

Look at better training for GM's offer benefits again they had benefits for all employees in 2013,2014 and then took it away from all part time. Bring it back

I have been working at Kum & Go part-time

    Pros

As a Kitchen Associate, I generally go in, do my job, and go home.

    Cons

The communication is terrible. Management is not skilled at communicating effectively or clearly. I was hired to work at one store and was put on another store's schedule until I finally told the other manager I was not hired to do that. Managers are unprofessional and the onboarding process was terrible - I was expected to complete all the employment documents on my own time without guidance and I had no access to the employee handbook (the online link provided did not work). There are no "official" breaks, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. I was also not paid for the first two weeks I worked until the second pay period after I had started. If there are any employee benefits for associates, no one is aware of them, let alone their workplace rights.

    Advice to Management

Develop leadership skills in general managers. Comply with Federal and State workplace regulations.

    Pros

Better then unemployment, make some great friends. Love my customers.

    Cons

Management sucks. Corporate gives GM set number of hours that varies every week to schedule employees. They expect the impossible out of their employees. Constantly get negative feedback because you should have got more done.

    Advice to Management

Give employees some kind of regular scheduled days/hours. A simple thank you and good job go A LONG way!!

I worked at Kum & Go part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, lots of experience to be found.

    Cons

Quick turnover from management down making it a stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Pay more money! There are not a lot of perks in the job, promoting doesn't pay very well, the goal of the company is to be the top convenience store but that won't happen with such a high turnover rate.
