I worked at Kura full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fine enough canteen. some of the people you work with are quite nice. the first 4 weeks of training are easy going and friendly before hell begins.

    Cons

Kura employs a lot of PR and Marketing idiots to make them seem like they are different from other call centres and value the employees. THIS IS A LIE. It is like every other call centre.

Managers are deeply interested in micromanagement. They are not interested in taking calls or doing work but will badger you at every opportunity. I was stressed out on my first day at phones as training was inadequate for the level of complaints. I was humphed and moaned at for needing a minute to compose.

Seen stressed or upset agents moaned at or put down by managers because of stats rather than treating them as a person. You are treated like a number.

Recruitment underplays how much is sales orientated. You are measure constantly for how much new sales you make. Recruitment in the interview underplays the sales aspect. It is outright misleading. Within a week of being of phones managers were whining that we weren't doing enough sales.

Was informed we would be doing move in and move outs for Scottish Power. Training was absolutely inadequate. Almost every call was someone complaining about service. it was a nightmare.

You are monitored for toilet breaks, lunch breaks, everything. If you are late to start you are disciplined. if you are kept past finishing time on call you receive nothing in return as you don't have bargaining power. Told this is standard for call centres, but IT SHOULDN'T BE.

Managers are a clique. Either be a sycophant or charm one to progress. Nepotism at its worst.

    Advice to Management

    Just give up

I have been working at Kura full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The coffee is nice

    Cons

Overpriced canteen, under paid staff, incompetent management, employees treated as numbers.

    Advice to Management

Reavaluate your whole approach to treating people fairly. Even the CEO posted on the company intranet that if you don't like it leave and find another job. The values state accountability and development but they constantly pass the buck and demote people without the blink of an eye. Worst company I have ever worked for.
