    Pros

Employees on the same power rung are great and down to Earth.

    Cons

Like all companies, you "believe" in the doctrine and praise all those above to gain favor and advancement. If dont believe and put ona show every day yo wont last. The advertising is that its a 'fun', fast-pace environment. No, frustrating face-paced is more appropriate. By either coworkers failing to do their job (lazy) or just short staffed, sick etc - others have to pick up the pace and then get an earful if they didnt complete their work on time. Kwik Trip operates by the numbers so they can hit the sales and budgets in order to build and expand to be everywhere. New buildings have space for sales, older ones way too small for how they want to operate. You the employee wont be living well. Your wage is low, your benefits lacking for the cost of living...So you get a bonus check at the end of the year - you will be using that to pay the bills you couldnt all year round. Kwik Trip is open every day all year round so no Holidays for you.

    Advice to Management

None. All companies know where they fail or lack in services or benefits. Has to be so in order to make the money they do. Which is good for the owner, shareholders, relatives and middle management maybe.

    Pros

Each day or even call is a new challenge. You interact with multiple departments and people daily. Not physically demanding for those who can't move well- it's a desk job.

    Cons

Too pleasing of a culture to the "guest/coworker/calller" so the representative gets walked on. Most everyone seems two faced and the office had alot of workplace gossip. Higher management in the office is stubborn, out dated and doesn't take suggestions, ideas or criticism. Will always find a way to manipulate things and gets away with it because others have to side with them because there's only 1 person that knows specific things- basically, everyone needs to eat out of this person's hand and he/she knows it.
Only one position to move up to from entry level and its definitely not coveted based on the current employees attitudes.

    Advice to Management

Need to be open to new thoughts, ideas, suggestions, questions, concerns and criticisms- then actually act them. Just because somthing has "been done like that for years" doesn't make it right and/or effective (cost and producton wise). Need to have a better direction of the job duties and the department as a whole. The department is understaffed in both physical bodies and knowledge per job and department description based on the continuing numbers of stores opening, expansions to the campus and the improvement of equipment and technology used in the stores and on campus. Ideally, the department should have sub depts within or other dpts. Should be assuming more troubleshooting, training and communication responsibilities to their end users (coworkers (r & c), guests, vendors, etc.)

I have been working at Kwik Trip full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very friendly atmosphere. Always room to move up. If you’re unhappy about your current job, there is many areas to transfer to. Profit sharing. Safety and QA incentives (gift cards, cookouts at work, and prize drawings). They give you $60 dollars, two times a year for new pairs of shoes. Provides uniform. Proper training in all areas. Update meetings to keep the company in the loop about what’s going on. Has their own health center.

    Cons

Many shifts at the departments are all over the place. Hours are not the typical 9-5. Many shifts cut into daytime/night hours which makes it hard to work with a normal schedule. (If you have kids, doctor appointments, etc) We need a lot more people hired to allow people time off and not work so much overtime. Working 6 days a week for several months to a year gets old very fast. It would benefit a lot of people if we had 10 hr shifts, rotating days off all across the board in all departments (bakery, kitchens, dairy) to help minimize overtime and ensure people are getting days off to regroup and see their families! Holidays are also rarely given off for any production coworkers. For major holidays like Christmas and thanksgiving we should be able to spend time with our families like management has the right to do.

    Advice to Management

Consider changing from 8hr shifts to 10 hrs so people get time off. And major holidays should be given off for coworkers to spend time with their families.
