I worked at Kwik Trip full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Supervisors and mid-level managers are extremely supportive and helpful in all regards.

    Cons

Upper management is not supportive of employees pursuing opportunities outside the company, though the company says they are. Additionally, during onboarding, they say that after 6months of working with the company, if the opportunity arises, you may be able to move to any department in the company. This is far from the case however as it is nearly impossible to move from a production position to a position in the support center, regardless of experience or resume.

I have been working at Kwik Trip part-time

    Pros

Working at Kwik Trip has helped me develop better social skills through frequent interaction with guests. The pay is good for the work performed. I'm am always busy and this keeps me away from looking at the clock and dragging through the shift. My fellow co-workers are very nice and were patient when I was shadowing. I continue to learn everyday. LOVE working here. Kwik Trip's values show with the in-depth interview process that is performed when choosing employees.

    Cons

Sometimes it's pretty cold in the building. ;)

    Advice to Management

Please keep your employee's happy because employee retention is important when shifts need to be filled. So, maybe bring treats or show some type of appreciation for being flexible with their hours.

I worked at Kwik Trip part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Year end bonus, advancement opportunities, flexibility around other schedules (kids other jobs and school ) as long as it's planned.

    Cons

Even if you're sick with a doctors note you have to call around to find people to cover your shift which is usually a managers job everywhere else. And even if you're contagious if no one covers your shift you have to come in.

    Advice to Management

Remember life happens and take 5 minutes out of your life while you're getting paid good money to call for replacements and not cause health issues.

    Pros

Fast past. Has a family feel to the team.

    Cons

All families have drama. Can feel overworked in the Kitchen compared to the leaders working on registers. Relies on unstable technologies and techniques for proper documentation. ( ex. Soup temps)

    Advice to Management

Needs to be a better balance in the work load between the kitchen and registers from my experience.

I have been working at Kwik Trip full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the guests that I serve.

    Cons

Super busy, especially in the summer.
Training is a problem, so many training videos that are required but very little or no actual training at the registers or in the kitchen, you tend to get thrown to the wolves.
NOT ENOUGH SCHEDULED LABOR FOR THE AMOUNT OF WORK REQUIRED.

    Advice to Management

Revamp you plan for labor allowances. Your basis for allowing labor hours should not solely on hot spot sales. Just because your hot spot sales are not always there does not mean your coworkers are standing around. There is so much to do during a shift especially for closing stores, you need to allow for that. Your management cannot do their job if you do not allow them the hours to schedule.
