    I worked at Kyocera full-time

    Pros

Have some form of training for engineers, including six sigma training although is very slow and not as rigorous

    Cons

Young people with aspirations to learn and grow should STAY AWAY. There is a high turnover rate among process engineers here. Management is very condescending and demeaning and could suck the positivity of any young engineer who wishes to start their career. Pay is also not competitive especially considering management expectations to work 10 hrs per day.

    Advice to Management

Change your attitude and work on your communication skills--everyone is miserable because of the way you speak to them. Management just chooses to ignore this. You will lose all your young engineers this way.

    Pros

Cutting edge products from cell phones to ceramic knives. Pay and location were good. Relocation package was acceptable.

    Cons

Hours and working environment, not as promised. Work environment not pleasant. In the end, many employees were laid off to send the work to India and Mexico.

    Advice to Management

In order to retain good employees and have them at optimal performance, important to not overwork them.

    Pros

A lot of hands on learning experiences working directly in the clean room and with the engineers and operators

    Cons

Management can be rude and demeaning. Not a lot of room for growth in terms of leadership positions

    Advice to Management

Be more open to your younger employees. Take note of the general atmosphere - an attitude change goes a long way.

    Advice to Management

Consider being more flexible with strict policies that come from top corporate management but don't necessarily make sense in the U.S. employment environment.

    Pros

Friendly people, benefits costs are low, it's a good place to learn before you move on.

    Cons

Old school management styles, a technology company without technology. If you don't follow the philosophy which is shoved down your throat at every turn you're shunned.

    Advice to Management

Get in with the times, allow electronic formats, stop forcing the philosophy on everyone.
