    Pros

Great, committed people. Company does good things for the environment. Interesting products. Strong ethics and strong company philosophy. People come to work here and stay for decades. Friendly, sincere work culture.

    Cons

Management can be inflexible about policies from top corporate management in Japan.

    Advice to Management

Consider being more flexible with strict policies that come from top corporate management but don't necessarily make sense in the U.S. employment environment.

    Pros

The majority of people working at Kyocera have been here for a while, so it is for the most part, a family environment

I worked at Kyocera as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not being micromanaged was a pro - they are pretty flexible about having you work around a schedule that fits you best. Some nice people in the company, relaxing atmosphere. Got to gain some experience regardless.

    Cons

The company is going nowhere, and most likely, you will go nowhere with the company as well. Being in the San Diego office, morale is low and the empty cubicles are plenty as constant layoffs have hit this company hard. Your voice is lost when you speak to higher ups in this company, and even their voices are lost to the even higher ups in Japan. Some of the managers aren't great leaders either and don't really do much on a day go day basis to warrent their higher job titles.

    Advice to Management

listen to the people below you, they have a lot of fresh, great ideas to contribute that could help your company. Japan does not know better than America.

I worked at Kyocera full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly people, benefits costs are low, it's a good place to learn before you move on.

    Cons

Old school management styles, a technology company without technology. If you don't follow the philosophy which is shoved down your throat at every turn you're shunned.

    Advice to Management

Get in with the times, allow electronic formats, stop forcing the philosophy on everyone.
