I worked at L-3 Stratis full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Truly, the local office was like family, many teammates became life long friends.
    Great benefits.
    Very little micro-managing.
People cared about each other, not much back stabbing.

    Cons

    Difficult to reach/engage senior management.
HQ office was cut throat, had high turnover, especially among internal support groups.
Too many applications and logins, many having redundant functions.

    Advice to Management

Executive teams touted employee engagement, but truly communication with and from HQ was troubled and difficult. Implement video conferencing for easier group meetings. and cross section teams.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at L-3 Stratis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pay is decent
Benefits good (prepaid legal, Dental Vision, Medical)

    Cons

Middle Management is horrible, project managers get their position based on who they know and how well they can brown-nose. Since they do not know how to do the jobs they are expected to over-see, they tend to make promises to the customer they cannot keep and blame the person doing the work.

Management has an attitude that the only real employees are at the corporate HQ and those that are making money on contract are expendable.

    Advice to Management

Promote people who know what they are doing and support your employees.
