I worked at L Brands full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Constant projects which were very exciting and improving on the reporting. Also, worked on a project that took a few years and the end result was very positive for the companies compliance program.

    Cons

No cons, just looking to change careers after 19 years.

    Advice to Management

Great place to work and LBrands really takes care of you and your family.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at L Brands full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Company is very large, but the founder still runs the company. He takes decisions personally and typically tries to do the right thing. Shareholder value is key, but there is an awareness that employees make it happen.

    Cons

Sometimes the right thing involves major change, and since the company is large it can affect many people...

    Advice to Management

    Stay true to your ideals.

I have been working at L Brands full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Talks the talk and mostly walks it...it depends on the person you work for or the group. I enjoy my work and love being able to put my client first b

    Cons

It would be great to put our home office values / decisions and flexibility into our stores.

    Advice to Management

Don't just lead when someone is looking, lead with your values because it really does matter.

I have been working at L Brands full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This company's compensation and the benefits (401k and medical) are outstanding. The company take cares of its people and more with many encouragement channels to give back to the community especially with its cancer research at the OSU and the James. There are many opportunities to learn and grow if you chooses to. Many people are very friendly (but you need to be friendly first) and is open to share what they know....

    Cons

There are many "senior/seasoned" people that thinks they own the place. Their attitude could be checked for a better working relationship. Some things they are entitle to promotion or respect just because they have been there for a long time. Nevertheless, if you can get over those working relationship, the experience can be very fruitful.

    Advice to Management

There is a lot of work, but taking time out to touch base with your team on an off site environment helps a lot. This will create relationship building, growth through spending time outside of work and seeing your coworker outside of the office creates a special bond. I would suggest doing a volunteering event. The senior upper management should have a touch base with the little guys to know what is happening tactically...

    Pros

Being associated with mega brand recognitions like Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works, adds a level of prestige to ones career.

    Cons

Despite promoting a corporate culture of work-life balance, there is significant pressure to work long hours and "do more with less". There is always that pressure with any company, but it is significant at Limited Brands, especially if there is any aspiration for getting to next.

    Advice to Management

Look harder at your internal resources for promotion into leadership roles. A resource proficient in a technology does not make a good manager, but someone who IS interested in management and a leadership role, just might work out better.

    I worked at L Brands

    Pros

Limited Brands always provided a challenging work environment. There are some good and talented people there. I worked in the Information Technology area & there was always a new challenge. By working for a very visible retailer, you could often see the results on your effort. For example in the catalog or web site you could see features and functions that you had worked on, such as gift cards. The compensation package...

    Cons

Many very talented people left the organization due to burn out. No matter how much U accomplished it was never enough. Although you may have earned 27 days of vacation there was never a good time to take it People had to learn how to say "no". Once you had become proficient at a technology or system, it was very difficult to expand your area of expertise as you were always needed for that system. More IT functions...
