I worked at L Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice coworkers. Fun atmosphere, but 'fun' doesn't pay bills.

    Cons

Pays like crap. If you're standing around in uncomfortable shoes, make it worth it.

    Advice to Management

Retail is a job no one else wants to do, pay people accordingly so they can LIVE. The people who stand around and peddle products they can't afford deserve just as much as a living wage as a CEO.

I worked at L Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, and vacation time off. The pay is okay too.

    Cons

Lack of management available on the floor. No cost of living raises, there are performance ones, but they don't match cost of living, Departmental issues, and no real advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to learn the department you are in charge of. Interact and make the team feel like you care, instead of just saying it.

+Among the friendliest employers around for the LGBT community
+Can apply for attain specialist positions without a degree, where many other businesses would require a degree
+Generally easy work, provided you can get along well with others
+Leadership has excellent code of values

    Cons

    -Terrible work/life balance
-Poor salary/benefits compared to similar positions within the community
-Slow to correct course when plans fail
-Who you know matters more than what you know
-Management doesn't follow through on our values

    Advice to Management

Your values are a two-way street. When management fails to play by the rules, associates are watching and will emulate that behavior. Follow through on your commitments and start casting a positive shadow.

I worked at L Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

nice company overall to work in. people rotate out of jobs every 12-18 months. my department had very flexible schedules and people were able to work from home 1 or 2 days a week.

    Cons

very low pay! I didn't like how my "total compensation" was 10K higher than my base salary giving someone the illusion that the company actually pays that much for you.

I have been working at L Brands as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent office environment, seems to lack the stereotypical catty female coworker

    free wifi

    laid back dress code

    40 hours every week

    Cons

Unless they said in your interview that they are looking to direct hire from contractor, don't expect to ever be hired on

No good management of workflow for employees. You are either swamped or have nothing to do for weeks.

Tend to be ignored or micromanaged, no in between

I worked at L Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay is good for now. But as I was told repeatedly by leadership, "we can get three of you in Bangalore for what you cost."

Benefits are in accordance with most companies its size.

    Cons

Don't be fooled by CIO's ridiculous Southern folksy manner... he is a stone-cold outsourcer and offshorer. The only reason they're hiring IT in Columbus is for stop gap measures as they move IT to Bangalore. Best talent has already left. Work here and you'll be stuck figuring out poor leadership's messes and then told to be "inclusive" and train your replacement in India.

    Advice to Management

CIO Steve Stone waited too long to act as if retention was important and nobody's buying it anyways. Better hurry up and get that knowledge to Bangalore before it all leaves DC3.

Fast paced Environment and you can learn a lot as you work a lot. Great environment to learn something and quit.

    Cons

Always Understaffed, Under appreciated. Upper management trickles poor morale from the top. HR Department is useless. No life work balance. Expected to work late and weekends. If you are lucky, you may get a free pizza. Too many politics and favouritism at work.

    Advice to Management

Focus on better work environment. HR Department need to be transparent.
