I worked at L Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discounts, decent salary, good bonus structure (if eligible), hard to get fired (see cons), Starbucks on campus, culture and values workshop

    Cons

Terrible PTO, benefits were meh, very political and relational-it’s who you know, no career pathing for non-product functions, too much separation of brands-each operated independent of the enterprise, no insight into business results, very twitchy about the IP, very risk averse, stingy with budgets but also spent ridiculous amounts on store operations events.’

I worked at L Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good salary and benefits for central Ohio

    Cons

very burn and turn, do not invest in their employees, very judgemental and not open to new ideas, the company tends to bring in a bunch of people throw them against the wall to see who sticks, then lays them off eventually anyway. No long term loyalty to the associate. Of all of the business units VS creates an environment of stress and distrust pitting associate against associate, no true team work no trust.

    Advice to Management

Be open to new ways of doing things, you might not have so much turn over.

    Pros

    Great Employee Discount
    Health/ Financial Benefits
    Work-Life Balance

    Cons

    Poor/Inexperienced Management
    Hierarchical Leadership
    Mismanaged Resources

    Advice to Management

"People do not leave great organizations, they leave poor management." Listen to your people, seek understanding if you do not fully understand, do not shy away from asking questions when you need clarity. Utilize your resources. This company also has a habit of bringing on contractors with no intentions of hiring full-time - I've seen great candidates with experience, excluded from positions they were qualified for.

I have been working at L Brands full-time

    Pros

L Brands is a large company, so there are a lot of opportunities to grow your career. It's much easier to make a job change while working there. But it is important to be in charge of your career growth.
Working for the brands can be stressful due to the fast paced and you have to be someone who thrives off of that type of environment. It's a culture that is not for everybody

    Cons

With the fast paced means that you might work long hours and some weekends. So much is dictated from leadership that you sometimes won't feel like you have ownership. It's a culture where fit is important. So if you don't "fit" into the culture, it is likely that you won't last there very long.
