I have been working at L Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of Distribution Centers in the network. Lots of community involvement.

    Cons

Feel stuck in current role despite many attempts and applications for other positions. There is no feedback or direction for what you may need to do to get in other roles.

    Advice to Management

There are many smart, talented, and dedicated people within your organization. You really need a better way of identifying them and developing them further or you run the risk of losing them to your competition or other companies.

    Pros

It is the best company I have ever worked for. Most of them are decent people who treat each other nicely. They believe in setting people up for success and train people well. The company is very well structured and very good with streamlining processes. It is a very well oil machine. I totally recommend people working for L Brands

    Cons

Depending on which department you work for, getting a promotion might be difficult

    Advice to Management

    Promote from within

I worked at L Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for. During the Christmas season they had food catered daily and gave away free stuff.

    Cons

I drove 60 miles one way every day that I was scheduled and was one of the last seven people left at the end of the season and they did not keep me for full-time. I worked my butt off and was hoping for a full-time job but was let down!!!

    Advice to Management

If someone is driving over 50 miles one way to a job and shows up every day given the opportunity for a full-time position and then make a decision after that!!! If they drive that distance one way every day to me that would be a dependable person to have work for you ...

I worked at L Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

At L Brands I worked with some of the smartest people I've ever met, they raised my game and I built a career (not just a job). If you like constant change and are familiar with the demands of the retail industry you'll love working here. If you work hard and prove yourself you can move up and move around, building a resume you can take anywhere ... we used to say that working at L Brands is like getting your MBA that you can take anywhere. Also: they care about results but also care about people ... great benefits ... and the community ... so if you are already engaged in giving back, you'll find a match (if not, see cons).

    Cons

If you are not agile with change and don't have a desire to be pushed (and push yourself) to be better every day, quarter and year, then this isn't the place for you. No 9-5 clock-in and out- jobs here. Also, if you are above the director level expect to give back to the community in time and dollars, serve on a board and commit to being engaged in United Way and Pelotonia campaigns ... if that's not your thing, consider somewhere else for your employment.

I worked at L Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay is good for now. But as I was told repeatedly by leadership, "we can get three of you in Bangalore for what you cost."

Benefits are in accordance with most companies its size.

    Cons

Don't be fooled by CIO's ridiculous Southern folksy manner... he is a stone-cold outsourcer and offshorer. The only reason they're hiring IT in Columbus is for stop gap measures as they move IT to Bangalore. Best talent has already left. Work here and you'll be stuck figuring out poor leadership's messes and then told to be "inclusive" and train your replacement in India.

    Advice to Management

CIO Steve Stone waited too long to act as if retention was important and nobody's buying it anyways. Better hurry up and get that knowledge to Bangalore before it all leaves DC3.
