    I worked at L. Knife & Son full-time

    Pros

None that I can even try and come up with.

    Cons

Poorly run. Pay is laughable. Management is clueless. WHEN (not if) you leave, make sure you have ALL of your affairs in order (401K, Insurance, etc), because they are useless once you are gone.

I worked at L. Knife & Son (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of hours were available there, pay was very good especially for a summer job. Most of the drivers were good guys and the warehouse guys were, for the most part, honest and stand-up guys.

    Cons

Hired way too many helpers for the summer and frequently helpers got sent home in the morning because there wasn't any work for them. Very annoying to get up at 6:30 and drive to wokr only to get sent home.

    Advice to Management

Labor is managed completely inefficiently by the operations staff. Operations is hiring an excessive amount of helpers so they can satisfy deliveries for big weeks (4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day) but then there's excess labor for the rest of the summer. Find a way to more effectively manage labor.

    Pros

This company is relaxing and the work load is not too difficult. They are also very lenient about taking time off.

    Cons

Upper management is never on the same page. Constant contradiction of what needs to be done. Can be very boring at times.

    Advice to Management

Need to treat your employees better, treat them as equals. Also communicate better between yourselves and the employees so that way things get done more efficiently.

    Pros

Beer business is fun, lots of perks, benefits are unbelievable, 401k, very family oriented. People are great

    Cons

Employees wear a lot of hats, holidays are busy times so usually you're working on some form or fashion. Pay is OK, trade off for unreal benefits.
