Great founder and products, horrible management

    Jun 9, 2014 -

    Pros

The salary, free products. Most of the staff is friendly and aim to please management. In lieu days for 6 day work weeks..

    Cons

As a manager or associate you can be placed in any location with a days notice, you have no say. You will not get praise for doing a good job, only picked on for any faults. You cannot email upper management a question without getting a rude degrating response unless they don't respond at all, which often happens. All management know to ask one another and to never go to upper management unless you want to look like an idiot and be on the chopping block. The company doesn't have near enough employees so everyone is scrambling trying to borrow staff from one another's store. This makes employees confused and feel unappreciated. Communication in this company is a total mess. There are no conference calls and you get memos, emails, and other information coming at you in a thousand different ways. There are a hundred different codes and coupons and half the time the codes don't even work. There are also a ridiculous amount of focuses.. Things we are ment to track daily- sales, tickets, Atv, conversion, new clients, client sales, amount sold of campaign, amount sold of divine, skincare percentage, amount of rituals given, amount of a certain focus product sold, what samples we gave out, how a many ppl we have booked for a party, etc..

    You better hope....

Nov 2, 2015 - Store Manager in New York, NY

    Pros

None except a steady pay check. The product is actually good but don't worry about that. You will only be expected to sell Divine cream.

    Cons

You better hope that you were hired by or are favored by upper management. If not expect to be picked apart and slowly forced out. Completely inhumane working conditions. No payroll, ridiculously unachievable goals, ever changing business practices, no uniformity at all, berating and endless emails. If you're a manager expect to never have a day off. You're constantly bombarded because they don't give you enough hours to train new employees. They get thrown into solitary work and the register system is a joke. Money invested in iPads that never work. New promotions everyday. Competition constantly with the online store. Sneaky business practices. No follow through on anything. If you are someone who loves to multitask to the point of exhaustion, can handle belittling and disrespect by superiors, obsession over balloons and cookies and want to be held responsible for advertising your store with no help from corporate then this place is a great fit for you. I would run as fast as you can like hundreds of other employees have in the last year. Stay unemployed. Anything is better than working for this place!

Lots of promises that were never fulfilled

    Oct 15, 2014 -
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

-decent pay -gratis at the start of every campaign -awesome co-workers

    Cons

-micro-managing from upper management -managers will promise you a lot of things, but can't deliver -no room for advancement (I was promised a full-time position for almost a year and was offered it 4 days after I gave my two-weeks notice) -company likes to tout itself as natural and eco-friendly, but pack a whole lot of chemicals in the products and are extremely wasteful. No recycling, everything has excess packaging (do you really need to wrap the box of your moisturizer in plastic?) -associates are pushed to sell Divine line of skincare (2 per day) even if it doesn't meet the customer's budget or skincare needs -associates are expected to do same amount of paperwork as manager, without the hours or the pay -computers and software are a joke. IT Department is extremely unhelpful
