I have been working at L3 Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They were much better 3 years ago!

    Cons

L-3 Platform Integration Division (PID) in Waco TX is a tiny niche division caught in a tailspin treating their professional engineers like factory workers. In my 20 year engineering career, I've never seen such close management scrutiny of every task and every minute. It used to be a great place to work until the management team from Greenville TX reduced benefits, tied time cards to gate badge readers, forced you to take vacation time if you arrived after 8:07AM. There is so much focus on the schedule, it is impossible to be agile and work creatively. I found most engineers were simply putting in their time without care to division success. Check this divisions earnings - why are they still in business?

    Advice to Management

The Greenvillains broke it. Only a new team can fix it. Maybe sell it?

I have been working at L3 Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay is good here. The flexible work schedule balances out the amount of overtime they expect all employees to put in

    Cons

The executive/senior managers dont care about what the employees go thru with their managers, even when you tell them directly that you are being disrespected and treated unfair! Two good HR people left Camden, and nobody batted a lash or asked why they left, even though we all know why nothing happened. The company is driven by the old mighty dollar and dont care about having a positive work environment. Corporate office reigns down new stuff for the divisions to do but dont give clear or complete instructions

    Advice to Management

If HR is doing bad, than the whole place is doing bad..Have a climate review by an outside consultant and find out what people REALLY need and how we feel about the company and the managers. Just cause somebody been with a company for a longtime doesnt mean they are happy and does not mean they are motivated to do their best work.
