I have been working at L3Harris full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

L3Harris has a great engineering community. They have a lot of IP that is critical to the defense infrastructure, and they have some really brilliant people. They've got quite a task in front of them, integrating and re-engineering the company following the merger of L3 and Harris. Unfortunately, there is a lot of internal forming and norming that needs to be done before the company can get back to performing.

    Cons

It's rather chaotic following the merger. Many parts of the business are not functioning correctly (poor management oversight, lack of administrative or management support, etc). Your job in during this period may be fantastic, you may be underutilized, or you may get caught in a bad situation while new business processes are being figured out. Also, they're pairing down benefits, as they've been doing... continually over the last ten years, from industry-leading to (slightly below) average.

    Advice to Management

You have a lot of resources in your people, but a fast transition and seemingly random appointment of leadership structure (on the L3 side) is painful. I'd recommend reaching out with more surveys to the mid-level and actually listening to them.

I have been working at L3Harris full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Trying to integrate new policies like dress for your day and "unlimited" vacation

    Cons

Wide distaste for CEO, benefits get docked a little more each year. Poor management, need to drive your own career, little to no support for advancement.

I have been working at L3Harris full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

It’s a job almost paying the bills.

    Cons

Poor management, low raises, short term focus. 100% diversity hiring and promoting is old fashioned discrimination.

    Advice to Management

Look beyond the short term cost cutting. Invest in your employees rather than finding ways to reduce Benefits. Treat everyone equal.

I have been working at L3Harris full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people, technology, and competative pay

    Cons

Poor management, standard benefits, poor communication, knee jerk decision making, declining innovation, disengaged workforce

    Advice to Management

The cost of employee benefits to the company is far less than what has been (and continues to be) spent to retain and recruit talent. Process problems and improvements should be investigated and resolved by those generating the revenue, not those watching from the glass tower. Currently all decisions come from the executive levels which is compromised largely of people who have no idea how to operate in the daily... work environment. This leads to more and more "savings" opportunities for the future as things slowly break at the working level from unanticipated failures. The next regime of leadership will have tons of opportunity and can really be heros for the employees and the idustry. Once Beverly Hills stops trying to tell the inner city what they need to do better before they investigate and listen to the problems they are having, this will be a great company once again.

I have been working at L3Harris full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Employee Resource Groups are a great benefit that help employees network internally and develop skills -Current "Unlimited" vacation and sick time is nice (might change with the merger) -Good work/life balance -Good pay

    Cons

-Really poor management -HR doesn't have the resources it needs to be a competitive advantage for the company -High turnover rate -Direct managers are extremely hit or miss in terms of engagement

    Advice to Management

Corporate management and upper management at Harris isn't knowledgeable about what happens at the ground level and what constraints there are to do work. Too often do you hear the phrase "look at it from 30,000 feet". Management needs to come out of their ivory tower and see how things are done on the ground level before making changes. They don't understand how the changes affect the day to day work and work was... made much more difficult, inefficient, and ineffective because of that. They care too much about metrics and not enough about how the actual work is getting done.
