-40 calls, 10 new leads, 4 new appointments everyday -they train you to lie to customers to get the most expensive membership out of them -they spend 0 money on marketing and want you to go outside marketing for 2 hours a day with no direction -very little training -VPs micro manage and create a highschool atmosphere -RVPS are out of touch with reality and what goes on in the club -not a true management position, you have to be front of the line customer service -not enough staffing -13 hour days -they want you at spend your own money on marketing and uniform -too many conference calls which all a wastes of time -company cares zero about you -everytime you request vacation time or off time it is the end of the world -3 department structure is old and outdated -they train to lie to people in the interview and manipulate them “sell the job” to create an unrealistic amount of money you can make -Anyone can go online and fill out a guest pass then we are left telling them guest passes aren’t activated here -company focuses on selling with fear and finesse when they should be focusing on selling with good rapport and honesty

The pros are that if you work in a new signature facility, you get to work out there too whenever you want. You can also bring a guest in at any time. You can structure your classes however you want. They might tell you at the beginning that there's a certain way to do it, but no one checks in on you, and they pretty much just give you an hour to teach how you want to teach. This is a big plus. I taught once a week for months before they moved it two because I just wanted the free gym membership :)
Cons
It's a big company and communication is very low. I once didn't even know my boss was fired and had to find out later through a co-worker. Half the time you don't know who you're supposed to be in contact with. If you teach at an old LA fitness, it's not the best facility. I would say this is midtier gym group coaching. As opposed to high tier such as equinox. Overall not a bad experience and a great way to get some extra cash and a free gym membership.

I worked at this company for a total of 8 years. Started as front desk and was promoted to Operations Manager after graduating college. I enjoyed the customer relations, and helping people. The gym atmosphere is a unique one, always different everyday. Taught me a lot in the 2 years I was managing the facility. As far as benefits go, it comes with a free gym membership and the insurance is pretty good.

They definitely undervalue their employees. By the end of my time there I was doing the work of 3 people and with no recognition or appreciation from the higher management, or pay raise..

* Management is disorganized and dysfunctional * Place big emphasis on making calls to update CC information for memberships, which can be stressful depending on how your OM decides to delegate it (but can also earn extra money on your paycheck per membership account you update) * Scheduling shifts can conflict with time availability you originally said you could work * Minimum wage pay
