I have been working at LANDESK full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

LANDESK hires talented people who work well together to make, market, sell and support great products. The company supports an appropriate work-life balance. Products are part of the fast-moving tech industry.

    Cons

Being owned by private equity limits the R&D investment. Significant growth comes through acquisition rather than organically.

I have been working at LANDESK full-time

    Pros

Good solutions and story, could be a great place to work if it was run fairly.

    Cons

They swamp the sales team with quota and make you have to be @ 100 attainment each quarter or they only pay you at 80%. The only people making any money is the executive team and they make it off the backs of their sales team. Very few sales team member make their number, but the executive team hits their number every quarter. People leaving in droves, the don't even know how messed up this place is.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and stop screwing your sales team.

I have been working at LANDESK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

LANDESK is probably the best company I have worked during my career. I have been shopping for other other opportunities to see what the market offers, but nothing comes close. Of course no company is perfect. Sometimes I have my own ideas how teams should collaborate or why we add/remove a certain feature, but the company has integrity. If there is a concern about functionality/security for a specific release LANDESK will not ship the product, even when it means it will take another 6 month to work out the bugs. Here are some points why I like working there
    -managers are down to earth
-employees stay a long time with the company. Some work there +20 years. Older 50+ employees are respected
    -pay is competitive
    -work hard & play hard
    -PTO is generous
    -lots of social activities
-HR and CEO is very focused on serving others through STEM or other social projects

    Cons

The only cons that I can think of is that LANDESK will change the company name soon. Renaming is risky and the LANDESK name has a good reputation. Familiarity is essential for B2B relationships. I don't claim to know the truth of all, but this is my biggest concern.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on collaboration, have clear communication channels, align the international teams to "one purpose". Simplicity is is king!

I have been working at LANDESK full-time

    Pros

Landesk has a very solid culture. Fun place to work with good people.

    Cons

Pay is below market standard. Adjustments are going to need to be made in sales compensation plans to keep the best and brightest

I worked at LANDESK (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are none. There are none, there are none

    Cons

I was laid off two days after being employed by Landesk, on a friday afternoon at 4PM. On monday morning, they said they made a mistake. I worked my butt off for them, tons of non paid over time, weekends. No thanks from them. They made millions from my software. Two years later, they send my job to china and lay me off.

    Advice to Management

take care of your people or you will have no people

I worked at LANDESK full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fantastic co-workers, marketing, HQ, training, sales kick off meetings. In general, I was treated well at LANDesk. Great benefits. Great HR.

    Cons

Upper sales management nefarious at best. Unreal some of the things I observed. Poor treatment of channel partners at times. Deal registration a huge issue for this company. Upper management has no soul. Mediocre pay.

    Advice to Management

CEO is fantastic, articulate, vision, and I feel is a great leader. Nothing they don't already know, they lose talent due to under compensation. I loved working for LANDesk, even with mediocre pay, I would have stayed their definitely if it were not for shady sales management. Heartbroken really after how I was personally treated after everything I did for this company. On the acquisitions, again nothing they don't already know, .... don't become a mile wide and a foot deep. i.e. wavelink, letmobile. That said, I still root for LANDesk. Hope this company achieves its goals.

I worked at LANDESK (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, benefits, and great people to work with. I always had the opportunity to learn and grow. Even under Landesk ownership working for the Shavlik division was the best!

    Cons

Landesk management of Shavlik made it slightly less adaptable, although there was good collaboration between the teams.

    Advice to Management

Allow remote employees - many of the jobs don't require being on location all the time. Really this is the only reason I quit, because I was not allowed the opportunity to work remotely (or from another location) even though it would be 100% successful.
