    Pros

The company in North America has a great culture, is full of smart people, and is well run - good leadership.

    Cons

Development tools are a tough sell in today's world. So is selling software dependent upon a range of hardware - system I / AS400.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great work, benefits and good working environment. Most people were nice meaning some people were supportive while there others that were too competitive.

    Cons

Too competitive, people weren't really willing to help others. Wasn't a team environment. Got blamed even though it was not your fault to make the company look good to the client.

    Advice to Management

Be more geared to advance your current workers to the next level. Promote more team work environment to bring up positive attitudes.

I have been working at LANSA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Has a few big company accounts for now -Has decent business partners for now -Upper management are extremely well compensated

    Cons

-Proprietary programming language not used elsewhere (already a small market) -Shrinking market share (many big names have moved on to different technology, even business partners are migrating) -High turn over -No corporate culture -Below industry wage for consultants -High variation in salary within same level -High workload, no work life balance

    Advice to Management

Pay consultants their worth and you may receive innovation to get out of such a small market share. Focus less on paying management well, otherwise there will be nothing left to manage.

I have been working at LANSA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

-The management gives the consultants a lot of work and won't hire until everyone is under stress. Sometimes there's little planning and a lot of ad-hockery to accomplish the project tasks. -Recognition is only given to those who are close to the upper management. Regardless of how hard some consultants have worked, only those who work for clients important to lansa see benefits. -Lansa does have some big companies as accounts including the government so some level of pride is attained when a client says nice things about the work of consultants.

    Cons

-Feedback is given but accomplishments aren't properly observed. Based on an employee's perception in the company, not real skill level, he/she finds it hard to move up in the corporate chain. -Lansa's bonus structure is non-linear. And it's a private company. Those who do the most technical work receive the least bonus, and aren't always recognized. Once someone reaches the management level, they do less and less of the work other than sending lots of e-mails everyday and collect the most money.

    Advice to Management

The management may seem to be making en effort to place people based on skill. But in terms of the satisfaction of its employees or the client, nothing is guaranteed. -17 days off are allowed but the company uses legal language to not give full benefits. Management often wants consultants to work extra hours and work on weekends but doesn't pay them. Instead, they give an extra 50-100 dollars in bonus.
