    Pros

Big company with opportunities to work on different types of projects
    Benefits are industry average
Most people outside management are nice and fun to work with

    Cons

Very hierarchical with an adversarial management style that puts people against each other to ensure control from the top

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great People in the DC office from top to bottom. It was a joy to come to work. Great 'signature projects' that I was able to work on leaves me with a life long sense of accomplishment. I had to leave for terminal parental care 600 miles away and I miss the Daly terribly. I know I have some like long friends there and I very much miss the energy and community of Washington, DC.

    Cons

Of course the DC office had issues. Fewer than most firms I worked at. But from the beginning there were no enormous ego's to deal with (with a few passing exceptions). We were the flagship of fish for major publishable and international work. Omaha was the 'Main' office and although the A&E staff were terrific professionals, there were were a few at the very top who made extroidenary bad decisions. Short sighted and immediate gain kinds that set the firm on a downward projection. For most of my 19 years there, I saw the company thrive, and then with wave of a hand, the decisions made stared to tear at the cohesion that made the firm great. Luckily, this made my decision to leave easy. In the end, people were at each other's necks, erasing the personality of what was a great firm. All orchestrated by a few people in the Omaha office.

    Advice to Management

Don't chase the quarterly profits, don't beat up the PM's for a bad month. Go back to pursuing quality projects. So much of the profit is backloaded. Your pressure makes the PM,s make poor decisions. Nurture your employees, they are your future. You can be great again.

    I worked at LEO A DALY full-time

    Pros

Majority of co-workers are easy to work with, collaborative, good at what they do and have no issues with sharing/ teaching you how to do something . Office feel is easy going and there is laughter often.

    Cons

The starting salary may be competitive but raises are minimal and something in the office manual against the employee initiating discussion on raises puts a long term employee far behind what they're really worth and below the salary of recent hires.
Medical Benefits are not for older or sick people. Know of a number of employees that have gone nearly broke in a particularly bad year.
The annual office holiday party is held in April. That means that the Christmas party is put on and funded by the employees via a pot luck. An annual summer party is usual held in some public park and also funded by the employees.
    Management changes often.

    Advice to Management

Respect and take care of your own. Develop an employee retention program that includes a competitive salary and a real benefits package.

    Pros

You get to work on really great projects in exciting locations across the country. Recent changes in Omaha office senior leadership have improved the culture of the office greatly.

    Cons

Ability of employee to control their own work life balance is at times inhibited by outdated company policies that are at times arbitrarily applied.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate or enhance policies to improve employee work life balance. Continue to stay on top of working at maintaining a great office culture.
