    Positive Outlook

I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I've never worked with a more talented group of people. At every level, the team at LEWIS is smart, motivated and passionate about what they do. Even more, this is a place where everyone has a voice. If you're new to communications, or early in your career, you can learn by working side-by-side with experienced PR, marketing and social media professionals. And if you're experienced, there is plenty of opportunity to...

    Cons

Change is in the air - at LEWIS and in the larger industry we play in. For the willing, its an exciting time and an opportunity to learn and grow. For others, its a time to reassess priorities. Either way, change is hard.

    Advice to Management

    - Keep thinking big picture with an eye toward our digital future. - Keep working to integrate teams across disciplines. - Keep investing in your employees. The training is amazing and not something many agencies take the time to do. - Take care of the leaders who have stepped up to help grow and build the business, and find ways to reward the staff that continue to put their faith in the ...

I worked at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people on the teams are amazing. Hands down, they're the best part of working there. There is an unmatched sense of camaraderie and teamwork, and a commitment to client service that I've not seen in any other agency environment. If you're young and looking for some quick "trial by fire" experience in PR or marketing, this could be a good place to start your career.

    Cons

The problem is that the office is now basically run by an HR department with an agenda. The person who is supposed to be managing the business is based in San Francisco and has left day-to-day operations with HR, which doesn't make a lot of sense. With no one at the helm, it's easy to get distracted from client work, especially when you're drowning in red tape, interoffice politics and other unnecessary drama. Things...

    Advice to Management

Reflect on the opportunities you had with the Boston office, and realize what you stand to lose if you throw it all away.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good people and used to be a strong culture before everyone left or was laid off. Hard working marketing and PR vets with years of industry experience.

    Cons

The CEO is a joke. He doesn't know how to give feedback and he makes very poor decisions. He tries to get involved with the business but has no idea what's going on with clients, the team or the market. He pretends to care but his actions show otherwise. US leadership has zero experience in running a business. They think that layoffs is the only answer to turning around a dying business. No one trusts anything he...

    Advice to Management

Hire a new leader, not just a manager. Hire someone that can inspire people to "want" to work for the company. At this point, nobody does. Also, hire an HR person that is empathetic and one that genuinely cares about the goodwill of the people.
