I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

LEWIS is great- you're surrounded by incredibly smart people and big ideas. Work/life balance is good for an agency.

    Cons

Process is a bit lacking, but that is normal when things are so fast paced.

    Advice to Management

Give smart and capable employees more ownership over what they're working on, don't hold things too close to your chest-- this will result in more progress at more levels.

I worked at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nothing really that positive. Cool, new location. Decent people and clients.

    Cons

US leadership isn't engaged with clients or teams, probably because of their "lack of expertise" in media relations, digital strategy and overall general business acumen. All they do is take orders from the CEO who really has no clue whatsoever what's going on in the US. All office heads have left or were pushed out in the last 6 months. Clients are dropping like flies. The culture is a gossip-fest and almost all...

    Advice to Management

REVAMP US leadership, again. Invest in leaders that put employee first and politics second. Make sure they know the basics of communications, are good in a room, have a network, all of that. Stop hiring random people off the street, thinking they wil magically turn the business around.

I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I've never worked with a group of people that I like and respect more. People are motivated and work hard and generally like each other, which is rare in my experience.

    Cons

Work life balance is always a struggle in PR agencies. The organization is putting in a lot of effort into fixing this -- but its a continual process.

    Advice to Management

Happy employees do go work. Good work makes happy clients. Happy clients make a profitable organization.

I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications for more than a year

    Pros

Collaborative environment - coworkers are non-competitive, supportive, and always willing to help each other. Work-life balance is reinforced frequently - the hours are very reasonable, flexible WFH policy, and support for colleagues with family. Those who excel at specific activities are recognized and rewarded (in terms of spot rewards and deserved promotions). If you put in the work and passion, there's no limit...

    Cons

Every company has ups and downs, and while LEWIS is going through a period of transition with staffing and approach to accounts, I feel like the outlook is overwhelmingly positive and the changes needed to be made in order to grow.

    Advice to Management

Keep rewarding those who work hard and providing feedback to those employees who aren't contributing at the highest level, and the rest will fall into place.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Clients range from late stage growth startups up to publicly traded companies Global reach Integrated marketing proposition resonates with clients

    Cons

Very political environment. Lots of favoritism which leads to pitting people against each other Opaque attitude towards providing feedback, despite claims that the organization is transparent Lack of training, despite the agency's claims Junior staff run wild, which leads to issues with client management and then higher-ups get involved when the clients complain. That shouldn't happen at all

    Advice to Management

Support your senior account team members (Account Managers and Account Directors) Pay more attention to your clients and how the account team interacts with them regularly, not when a problem surfaces

I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great people to work with: smart, quick, curious and committed to delivering excellent work - Some fantastic recent hires across the business are injecting new energy and giving different and interesting perspectives - As agencies go, there is a good work life balance - there definitely isn't a stay late culture. Everyone knows that agency world (particularly when it's global) doesn't just run 9-5 and there are lots...

    Cons

    - Sometimes, new ideas and initiatives are introduced but not followed through - Internal comms could be improved - There could be a bit more focus on personal career development plans (which are apparently in the pipeline now) - More external training would be helpful

    Advice to Management

    - Keep communicating with the wider team - Follow through on new initiatives and keep everyone updated - Keep hiring great people: don't compromise on standards - Be brave: building for the future isn't always easy but stick to a clear strategy and it will pay off

    Pros

Fast-paced, a strong global network, interesting and varied work and a flat structure. Good with integrating digital into briefs

    Cons

Not a huge amount to say on this one, sometimes roles can fall through the cracks during transition phases but ultimately a very professional outfit

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up
