    I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Had some great staff members across different teams that were friendly and welcoming.

    Cons

    Training, meetings and support were insufficient - there are inconsistent structures in place across all accounts where expectations are unrealistic for the amount of time and effort management put into showing the correct processes - managers often exceed work hours and continue to expect work from staff beyond 5.30pm finish. New business is a priority over maintaining current business also. Senior- junior... management are heavily stressed and often clearly express this through negative, critical behaviour. Seniority is often shown by pulling rank rather than helping out. Management and co workers always had time to criticise and belittle, but were always busy when help or support was required. Some fellow managers spoke to staff in an inappropriately severe manner, undermining self esteem.

    Advice to Management

    Don’t tell people to smile if it’s all going wrong. Actually put time and effort into looking into issues and helping resolve situations. When recruiting don’t say certain jobs aren’t required or you can try certain avenues when those avenues aren’t open. Be clear about job responsibilities immediately rather than tell people what they want to hear. Make sure to put time into explaining and showing how... to do things rather than hammering down on people. From top to bottom it’s a mess and people deserve better treatment.

    I have been working at LEWIS Global Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    LEWIS has a great hard working but fun culture, with lots of social activities and HR initiatives. You can travel the world via the LEWIS network visiting other 28 offices either on secondment or via the passport scheme. There is plenty of training provided to further your skills and career. We win lots of new business, whilst also retaining clients. The panoramic views from the office are spectacular too!

    Cons

    As expected some clients are more difficult than others (as in all agencies!) Also, the hours can be long, but no more than in any other agency.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great HR initiatives and rewards! Keep an eye on the workload of those doing a longer than usual working day.
