I have been working at LG Electronics USA full-time

    Pros

    All paid health benefit
    Business casual dress code
    Good work-life balance
    Good self-development opportunities

    Cons

Very poorly run HR Dept since new VP last year.
Not much advancement opportunities since most of the supervisors want to keep their position instead of getting the promotions.
    Pay is a bit lower
Company's CEO and CFO are appointed from Korea and they are rotating position every 2-3 years.

    Advice to Management

Reduce employees from S. Korea. It is very discouraging employees from the US since very few have senior management title.
Have and share some long term goals even though CEO and CFO are not going to be there.
    Communicate better with non-management employees
    Be independent of Korea HQ.

I worked at LG Electronics USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits are decent.
    Pay is not terrible.

    Cons

Managers are terrible. They will make your life a living hell. Management hates to implement new ideas. They will give you a workload that is impossible to finish but expects to be done within a short period of time. Training does not exist in this company. Heavily excel based jobs and resist to utilize new programs. Will not gain any skills or valuable experience. HR department has no idea what they are doing. Managers care about how pretty report to upper management looks instead of the facts and how well the department is actually doing. A guy named Eric Surdej even wrote a book called "Koreans are crazy" based on working at lg. I would not recommend anyone who wants to stay sane to this company.

    Advice to Management

Train managers on how to manage employees or promote/hire managers who are capable of both the hard skills and the soft skills to do their job well and manage employees. Be open to new ideas and programs to keep up with the rest of the world.
