    Pros

Plenty of opportunities to stretch your skills, learn new ones and most importantly to take ownership of the projects.

    Cons

Not much communication between teams. Managers are doing what is best for them, not for the company or their teams

    Advice to Management

Shake them up and let the common people do their job.

I worked at LG Electronics USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The ONLY thing that keeps Americans working here is compensation and health benefits. They provide great health insurance (because they need to pay for your declining health that results from working here)

The only thing that keeps Koreans working here is either compensation or the "prestige" that one gets from their culture for working for this chaebol.

    Cons

Work-life balance: You will be worked to the bone for your compensation, no matter if your role is a tech, sales, marketing, R&D, product manager, etc. When you start calculating your hourly rate after you're working 60, 70+ hours per week it starts to look less appealing...

Hierarchy: it's a chaebol, and thus, executives are to be feared and put on a pedestal regardless of competence. Unless you are a weasel willing to jump as high as they say, it will be difficult to climb the ranks for promotions. Aside from this, the hierarchical structure makes it very difficult to change culture for the better even when it is broken.

Office environment: The main US HQ is about as depressing an office as can be. The lobby may fool you, but get back into the cubicles and it might as well be a call center somewhere in the middle of the desert. The satellite offices around the country can be a bit nicer, but keep in mind eyes will be watching you to make sure you aren't "leaving too early." If you think 6pm is a reasonable hour to leave work, think again. It's almost a badge of honor to stay at the office until 8, 9, 10, 11pm at night, even if you aren't actually working on anything! #insane

Expendable: No matter if you brought in a ton of cash, or solved a problem one day that saves the company money -- the second things start to turn south from a financial standpoint, your contributions will be forgotten and you will be put on the chopping block.

Mental well being: If you value going home and night and sleeping well, and enjoying time with loved ones, you would be wise to finally pull the trigger and go work somewhere else or not accept that glitzy looking job offer in the first place. Put simply, the highs (paychecks) will seem great, but the lows (everything listed above) will wear your mental health down to the point where you start to question a lot of things about your competence. But don't let that happen. You're better than that! #TreatYourselfWithDignity

    Advice to Management

I have been working at LG Electronics USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, and schedules are great! Very family centered and focused. In addition to the PTO, LG observes most federal holidays, so that allows you to spend more time at home without using your time.

    Cons

Once hired, the only move is lateral. I believe management should be open to an advancement program within the company. Also LG should invest in an adequate training team and/or tools.

    Advice to Management

A facilities upgrade is needed. Management needs to be consistent with annual performance reviews and should learn to how communicate with their employees be it positive or constructive.

    Pros

This company makes you work a lot, up to the level where you will not have the time or strength to live your life.

    Cons

Work so much, there is no time to look for a different job

    Advice to Management

If your employees feel valued, they will work much harder.

I have been working at LG Electronics USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are not many pros. The only one I can think of is the benefits. But even those are not worth the stress!! Worst company I have even worked for!

    Cons

The list is to long. I could write a book about how horrible this company has been to work for!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop putting more and more stuff on the techs "to-do" list! There are only so many hours in a day! It is impossible to complete all the work related tasks in a day! Your expectations are unreasonable!
