I worked at LG Mobile Phones full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was a time when there was freedom to manage your market and balance your quality of life, not so much anymore. The pay to work ratio is disappointing.

    Cons

Pay for full time work is not enough to live in most major cities. Work is easy but the micro Management is hard to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Raise the pay for better quality of work. Micromanagement is killing the morale. If you dont trust us to do the job, dont hire the people that you do.

I worked at LG Mobile Phones full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The biggest pro of working at LG was the company holiday party at the end of the year. Free food is always nice.

    Cons

The pay was pretty substandard for a large company, as were the benefits. The supervisor I worked for before I left was awful and extremely condescending.

    Pros

Benefits are good. That really is about it.

    Cons

Work-life balance, low pay check, no vision, frequent change in management, huge turn-over for middle management, glass ceiling, everything is top driven (from Korea HQ).

    Advice to Management

Get your HR right. Localize. Empower your people. Stop treating them like expendables. Stop comparing yourself against Samsung. What the heck?

I have been working at LG Mobile Phones full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good People work here and most mean well. Excellent benefits package.

    Cons

LG management is forever trying to figure out ways not to pay bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Just be honest with your local region employees and stop pretending that you genuinely care about their careers or their welfare. It's obviously lip service and we're not as dumb as you think we are. By withholding bonuses you are changing our compensation after the fact and are encouraging us to use LG to gain experience we can use elsewhere.

I have been working at LG Mobile Phones full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The team of people I worked with were great, making going to work each day fun and exciting. I was able to learn many new skills, become an expert in many areas that I am able to use throughout my career.

    Cons

The biggest obstacle (s) are culture based if you do not speak the Korean language. Communication is key in our line of work, so you are at a disadvantage if you do not speak the language regardless of how experience or good you are at doing your job.

    Advice to Management

It is important to relay clear direction for the team so that everyone can focus on the same end goal. Communicating this at an early stage can help build a solid foundation with the team.
