    Cons

Enterenched areas of the company make modernization more dificult than it needs to be

    Advice to Management

Lots of smart people, but they could easily work smarter if that was a greater focus of the culture.

    Pros

Work-life balance, great benefits. Future growth opportunity for under 30 with 30-40% of the work force in line for retirement.

    Pros

Interesting Projects - good location pay and benefits are good. Most employees are friendly.

    Cons

Too much politics. Management does not trust employees in some areas. In IT they bring in foreign nationals but do not acclimate them.

    Advice to Management

Trust the people doing the work. Less contractors and more full time employees. Hire American.

I worked at LG&E and KU Energy full-time

    Pros

Great company to work for and salary is typically justified. Great training opportunities for employees.

    Job stability

    Nice, caring people

    Tons of free food

    Cons

There are a lot of "old timers" and corporate politics behind closed doors.

Very corporate company culture, millennials hate it! (So many meetings, snooze)

THERE IS NO MANAGEMENT TRAINING. -- I had to begin working on projects with a person recently promoted to a management position. She had no training on how to "manage" people, give direction, and simply be a leader. Other managers even complained about how the company doesn't train management well. Because of this, I had a horrible experience working there because of this one person.

Lastly, work from home doesn't exist in this company unlike at Humana & UPS.

    Advice to Management

Train your management after promotion on how to be a proper leader without talking down to people.

    Pros

Great people that work here, great benefits, annual raises and bonuses

    Cons

promotions are more time-based than merit-based

    Advice to Management

Management needs better transparency with employees. Culture is very dictatorial, resulting in decreased employee morale (on the operation side of things). Company should review antiquated promotional practices
