    Pros

Great pay and benefits. There are a lot of great people that work for LGS.

    Cons

Unless you work in Denver or DC, the company does not care about you. The High Point office was always ignored, lots of layoffs, and no communication with other branches. The management hired unqualified friends to run departments. Lots of long hours to fix mistakes from the headquarters. Almost no culture or unity that young companies have.

    Advice to Management

Do not hire senior management based on friendship.

I have been working at LGS Innovations full-time

    Pros

4 weeks PTO ( if they approve).

    Cons

Company is looking to be bought and is taking on more work then it can possibly compete with the given staff. This causes extremely long hours that you can verify by looking at the parking lot during if hours. No incentives, promotions or bonuses along with minimal pay increases.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to grow the business so fast ( like wireless) and compete the work you have.

I have been working at LGS Innovations full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

LGS provides a great balance of home and work life. They are constantly looking for ways to make work fun and interesting. I go to work everyday knowing that what I do makes a difference. The leadership has an open door policy and allows for feedback and suggestions. This is a company of 1,200 and growing but it has the feel of a small family oriented organization.

    Cons

The commute is the biggest challenge for me. The leadership understands there are days when it may take a few minutes longer to get to work.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on the Mission and continue to keep that family oriented small-business feel.

    Cons

Lack of activities for employees to partake in

    Advice to Management

Hire younger employees and allow for more "fun" throughout the year. I think that the company still believes in bringing in older experienced employees that cost more then a new college hire would

I have been working at LGS Innovations full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Excellent Management (I'm convinced my program director is the nicest man on earth)
    - Great benefits for new hires
    - Fair compensation
    - Quick and friendly responsiveness from corporate concerning any issues or concern
    - Clear direction and expectations for projects
    - Flexible
    - Fantastic sick leave policy
    - Fair vacation policy (far from the worst I've had)
    - Nice training and education benefits - progress feels encouraged

I have plenty of nice things to say about LGS so far, and I feel anyone able to work for them is given a huge opportunity to excel, even if it's not with this company. I've been allotted time and resources to pursuit professional certifications, I feel like I'm valued and it motivates me to reciprocate that value within the company.

The executives are also some pretty big names I was familiar with prior to my employment, and are fantastic people first kind of people.

    Cons

So far there aren't many. The healthcare options seem pretty standard, but still covers needs.

Not sure on the availabilities to progress within the company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to put employees first... I'll edit this after a year if opinions change, but management seems great so far.

I have been working at LGS Innovations full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of smart people doing good work for national security. Very interesting tech; you'll be exposed to a variety of good stuff to put on the resume.
40 hours weeks. No pressure to work OT.
    Decent pay and benefits.

    Cons

Senior leaders appear to be out of their depth and clueless esp. on business matters. Short sighted and seem to always be putting out fires. They take forever to make decisions and rarely resolve tough problems, especially wrt personnel who are poor performers and/or a bad fit. Incompetent managers are destroying moral. Many should have been moved on years ago.

Company culture is kinda weird - no one is held accountable (esp. management) and general vibe is "get along/don't rock the boat".
Very dependent on gov't funding - not sure it is a good time to be with a defense contractor.

    Advice to Management

Weed out bad managers and bring in new blood. Your company has settled into mediocrity.

I have been working at LGS Innovations full-time

    Pros

    -Interesting Problems
    -Real world impact
-Localized teams of employees can be strong and supportive places to work
-Business is doing well which presents a lot of opportunity
-No BS like riding scooters around the office to the ping-pong tournament. People have real responsibilities and are expected to get real work done.

    Cons

-Support organizations (HR, Finance, IT, Facilities) are stuck in their ways and are either unwilling or unable to change to better support a growing, evolving company leading to a lot of frustration.
-Bell Labs roots mean it's an older company with culture, people, and processes from another era.
-Fast growth strains the employees who have to keep up with it.

    Advice to Management

There will probably be a comment about how I can discuss my concerns with my manager or HR business partner. How can we actually make our company better when I have a manager who knows these things but feels powerless? They took down the public CEO suggestion box (where some good-yet-uncomfortable issues had been raised) so that shows you how interested they are in having a conversation. This is a solid place to work but let's start a dialog--with opportunity for real change--about what we want to be as a company and how to make this a better business.
