Excellent place of employment

A most seasoned and effective ministry saving/benefitting many lives around the world
Cons
I have no criticism after serving my tenure there

Pros
40 hour work week Great benefits
Cons
Extremely low pay Depending on the department, you’re not trusted to have your own cell phone in the room. You can’t listen to your own music. Even when you do well enough to be promoted, you must meet certain criteria. No advancement opportunities unless you kiss up. Mandatory chapel services that can seem like indoctrination if you don’t agree with their beliefs (Pre-COVID) No mandatory mask wearing, so you’re prone to get COVID if you have a compromised immune system. No work from home opportunities unless you apply for a certain position, even when you need that accommodation, you get shut down immediately. No flexibility and the policies are outdated. Your opinion doesn’t matter. Nothing changes for the better.

Worst Place to Work in DFW
Aug 16, 2021 - Anonymous Employee in Euless, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Your salary. You will live pay check to pay check, but you will get your check. Something is better than nothing.
Cons
Extremely toxic work environment. Narcissistic leader. More of a political campaign site than a ministry. Misogynistic. Racist. Scammers. Just don’t.

Pros
They seem to want to do good things in the world.
Cons
MICROMANAGED (makes one not even want to try new things because they don’t trust it if it’s different). VERY MEAN TO ITS EMPLOYEES If you forget your fob, something in the office after you leave, or make a mistake as a new employee, there is NO grace. They act as if it’s the end of the world and belittle you to the point of shame (I guess to try to make sure it didn’t happen again)! No one wanted to be bothered by the learning curve. I was required to come down hard on employees as well NEPOTISM is rampant yet no one wants to admit that they are family. It’s ridiculous. They try to hide it. Just admit it and embrace it. It’s run as a 1960’s very conservative organization and expect all employees to feel that way. “Mr. so and so” and the other “Mr so and so” run everything and it’s very oppressive to women.

Not a place to settle, no room for advancement
Aug 25, 2017 - Anonymous Employee in Euless, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The majority of the company is friendly. Most everyone gets a long. Accommodating to elder people. Lots of paid holiday including birthday holiday. If certain life issue comes up they attempt to work with you to make up your time. Understanding of emergency until you hit a certain mark. Paid chapel almost every week. Matches 403B contributions. Benefits are in the semi affordable side but see cons list for reason why it's only semi affordable. Helps employees financially if guidelines are met.
Cons
HR runs the company in a very micromanaging way and so do some of the managers. If you're unlucky you will get a manager that makes up rules as they go and gets away with it. No longer have company events. Barely any room for growth in both pay and position. Does not allow tattoos or unnatural hair color. Low salary. Raises comes but once every few years, it's usually not much (around $0.30 give or take some). Pays for all of upper management's/director's insurance & medical bills which causes benefits to be unnecessarily more expensive for the employees. Charges tax on donated sick time. Ridiculous rules for visitors and children.

Pros
You get 8 hours sick time a month after you’ve been there a year and 2 weeks vacation. They have paid chapel you can attend once a week. Nice friendly caring co-workers.
Cons
At one time this used to be a really good company to work for but now it’s not. There’s no room to grow, no yearly raises and no type of bonuses. Some managers are great there but others like to micromanage their employees to the point that they want to quit. You should trust that the people you hire will effectively know how to do their jobs instead of constantly having to check on them. No room for advancement unless you are personally liked and if we did get a raise it’s no more than 2%-3% and raises are across the board not by how hard of a worker you are.

Old company, old leadership, doesn't value employees
Jul 10, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Euless, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I liked that when I was hired I thought I was going to be a part of something bigger than myself. I think in terms of a "ministry" they do a good job. Their heart is in the right place with helping people in 3rd world.
Cons
However, when it comes to valuing employees, I felt extremely undervalued. Promised quite a bit when hired (possibility to travel, support, budget), but ultimately was stuck in a room and given menial tasks. The other issue is that owner of the company doesn't listen and thinks he is always right stuck in his old ways. I really do like the people at the company, but it's very difficult when a Christian organization doesnt seem to care about it's employees or the culture of the company. It's a sad place to work.

A chance to express brotherly love
Nov 18, 2014 - Administrative Assistant in Euless, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The company provides good benefits and comparable pay. It is a non-profit ministry so if you have a heart for others, but don't want to go on the mission field this may be a place for you.
Cons
Depending on the department management is stagnant. Employee feedback is not really welcome though they say there is an open door.
