    Pros

People you work with, New cultures, new friends

    Cons

Bad management, free but disgusting food, dirty surroundings for a catering company, superiors treat you like you're worthless

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees like people! For a catering company you'd think you'd keep places more sanitary and not keeping clog toilets unflushed and uncleaned for weeks at a time to the point that when people walk in it makes you vomit

I worked at LSG Sky Chefs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My supervisor was easy to talk to. Free meal everyday.
That is about it. Not much pro

    Cons

If you are marry and have kids, this is not the job for you. Basically you have you to be free 7 day a week.
The pay is low consider what you have to go through to get the job.

On hand training was the worst. Employees that's been there for awhile don't know how to train or they don't want to train you all. They are probably threaten they will loose there overtime.

If you don't mind working 12 hour a day and don't want a life, go for it.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your veteran employees know how and want to train new employees.

I worked at LSG Sky Chefs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary and free meals, easy interview process, a lot of overtime available. The company provides uniforms and shoes and other equipment.

    Cons

    • Dangerous place to work because some drivers drive in an unsafe way. The management knows about this problem but only punishes some of them; depend on just personal feelings about the employee and if they are or not a family member of the management.
    • Some supervisors from dispatch are very rude, one day a supervisor call stupid to another employee, even in front of others and even in front of airport security.
    • If you made a mistake, they make public the mistake, say the name of the employee, print out and put in a way everybody can see it, without any kind of mercy.
    • Some trucks have serious problems that can put in risk the security and life but even when I notify about it, the mechanics do not repair well some of those problems.
    • Some supervisors do not show any mercy at the time some employees make a mistake and add information that is totally false in order to danger the reputation of the employee and terminate them at their convenience.
    • Many employees really enjoy to damage the reputation of the other employees and the management believes them even when sometimes is totally false.
    • Very stressful work environments, sometimes not time even for lunch, violate in this way the law of Texas about it.
    • New hires get training by others employees who are afraid that the new hire takes his jobs, very rude during the training, complaint that train for free and not provide a good training, a then complain that the new hire is not good.
    • Retention rate is very low, many quits because unfair treatment from some supervisors and other co-workers.

    Pros

Most of the people are friendly
    Decent pay
    Free meals occasionally
    Flexible working hours

    Cons

More senior employees can be difficult to work with.
There is an insane amount of politics especially working with American Airlines.
Any problems in the workplace are dealt with by senior management either complaining about it, or sweeping it under the rug rather than addressing and fixing the issue.

    Advice to Management

Start fixing workplace issues rather than complaining about them. It'll cause less drama, and help improve the overall work atmosphere.

I worked at LSG Sky Chefs (More than a year)

    Pros

free meal daily, never a dull moment, 12 hour shift goes by quick...

    Cons

very unorganized. Training to cater planes and coordinating is poor at best. this company has a culture of screaming to communicate, high stress. the learning is mostly tribal knowledge and changes making it more difficult to build your flights. Mgmt. is a good ole boys club. the place would benefit with some six sigma and some lean reorganization. SAFETY is just a pencil whip program. night drivers are usually drunk by 2-4 am and no way to call them out on it due to nature of safety program and safety MGRs 9-5 workday. tons of paperwork and issues on the airside of airport out of your control. you want an airline catering job, look elsewhere. Be prepared to work 10-12 hour days more often than an 8 hour day.

    Advice to Management

Get real. Change the culture, hold up to the passport to knowledge training your so proud of. give your supervisors some help. drunk drivers at night with no way to send them for testing without taking a delay because your supervisor is coordinating flight and cannot leave. trouble waiting to happen. save a penny now and set yourself up for a lawsuit. good luck, you will need it.
