    Pros

Lot's of room to grow in the company, and plenty of opportunity for those willing to "go the extra mile."

    Cons

Salary wasn't the best, it can be easy to get stuck in a role and turnover was a bit of a problem in some departments.

    Advice to Management

The company is no longer in existence, so leadership advice is not very applicable. Leadership may want to approach its best employees with development plans, if those employees don't make the first move.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at LT Trust Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers. If there was an issue with an account, you could always go to the back office processors to get it corrected ASAP.

    Cons

Some of the managers and supervisors in the front office were clueless on how to run their departments. If there was an issue caused by them, they would not take the initiative to get it fixed, and would lie and blame employees for the mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Get people in the management and supervisor positions that have experience in this field. Stop hiring managers/sups just because they have a degree.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at LT Trust Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learning about retirement options, training was good, time off was better than most places.

    Cons

The challenge of working with disgruntled account holders. Low pay for the industry. Repetition of the job made for long days

    Advice to Management

Mobility within the organization. I went through a series of lay offs and was kept, but saw two thirds of the staff go leaving one to wonder who was next. Added work load due to lay offs.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at LT Trust Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Decent salary for certain jobs
    Relocation opportunities

    Cons

    Poor Upper Management
    Disorganization
    Poor Customer Service
    Outsourcing jobs abroad
    Bad Communication
Ownership cares more about efficiencies and cost that its employees

    Advice to Management

You must have better communication. If you plan on pursuing any more company aquisitions, you have to inform the affected staff and clients better. If this is the communication that you provide your staff and clients with, I can only assume that the level of service you give the individual plan participants is terrible.

    Pros

The benefits are good and the hours worked are flexible.

    Cons

Too much finger pointing. When there is an issue managers go to the top instead of working directly with the team or individual making a small problem a large one.

    Pros

After several heavy blows from the banking meltdown of ’08, LTC has fought its way back to stability. Now that LTC has its feet underneath it, the company is focusing on some promising growth opportunities.

Not only is LTC one of the only Financial Services employers in downtown Denver, but it is also centrally located next to 16th St and the Light Rail.

    Cons

Like most employers, LTC had to drastically cut staff during the Great Recession, but layoffs were handled with exceptional fairness. The remaining staff has had to deal with an excessive workload (economists like to call this "increased productivity"), but management is doing its best to make the numbers work in a constrained economy.

    Advice to Management

Hats off to the straight-talk - Thanks for not trying to sugar coat bad news.
More focus on the bottom-line and less focus on the details/analysis.

    Pros

Lincoln Trust Company provides employees who are willing to work hard with opportunities to grow outside of their normal daily duties. They value ideas and promote employees to share and become actively involved with the company's direction and success.
The company has been recognized as a leader in innovation and the senior management team demonstrates forward thinking with successful Business Process Management technigues and a fully integrated enterprise architecture. The foundation for success that Lincoln Trust has built creates opportunities for all of its employees to dream-up new innovative ways to create more effcient processes and to do our jobs better. Employees are made to feel like a part of the oragnization and its success. You definately feel like you are a part of something big when you are on the Lincoln Trust team.

    Cons

Market difficulties that are affecting the entire country certainly have made there way into to Lincoln Trust as well. Unfortunately, this has meant that a large part of the staff has been cut-back over the course of three years. However, the strength of the products that Lincoln Trust offers along with the strength of the employee knowledge base has shown that Lincoln Trust can weather this storm. The company continues to grow even in these difficult times.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employee education and their part as a Lincoln Trust team member can help to promote the company and its products and services. The employee is the front-line and they are the voice of the company to the client. Investing in the employee is going to pay-off big for the company when they willingly promote the company to everyone they talk to.

    Pros

Has some areas with high potential growth.
Solid benefits package, including medical and dental.
Great work/life balance, particularly the PTO offered.
    Centrally located.
    Competitive pay.

    Cons

Tough work environment because most employees have a lot of work, but not enough time to do it.
Due to the poor economic environment, management was forced to cut many costs, and labor was a major one.
Some employees feel a lack of respect because management openly communicates that people in India can do a better job for cheaper.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the customer and profits will come. Be careful what cuts are made because something that saves us in the short run may ruin the company in the long run.
