I worked at LTD Hospitality full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

LTD is a fun place to work, the management team truly cares about the employees and corporate events are always a blast.

    Cons

Wish they I could have stayed but family relocated and they did not have any hotels in my area.

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring managers that care.

I have been working at LTD Hospitality full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Co-Workers are the best part of the position, it is the little busy bees that make the company run better -not the Upper Staff (ones who think they are the Bosses) and Corporate Managers

    Cons

Upper Corporate Managers, (people who think they are THE BOSS) or Owners of the company but are not- like to Micro-Manage employees. Employees do not like to be harassed, treated unfairly, talked down to, belittled, very rude tone of voice toward other employees, vendors and customers. Not a very nice place to spend your work days.

    Advice to Management

Be aware of the Corporate Managers that you hire that have a BAD attitude toward employees, vendors and customers. Review carefully people that will be in charge of other employees regarding their management styles. Wish them luck on the BAD path of Upper Management Style that they are hiring, and hope that soon they will open their eyes and realize that they have made some bad choices in hiring Upper Management.

I worked at LTD Hospitality full-time

    Pros

Every was very welcoming prior and upon my start date.

    Cons

Unfortunately, all the negative commentary in previous reviews are still quite accurate. I’ve witnessed payroll fraud, misuse of brand perks, discrimination, harassment. It’s rather jaw dropping. Insurance is expensive.

    Pros

    Small Company
Every GM makes an impact. Your suggestions are listed to and there is very little red tape. Owners and corporate team truly care.

    Cons

No hotels in Florida so I had to leave when spouse transferred. My fault, not theirs.

    Advice to Management

Keep caring and paying attention to your associates.

    Pros

Both associates and Managing Team are great to work for. Family values are expressed here. A company that actually talks about family values and shows it as well. Love coming to work everyday. Love working with my team.

    Cons

Have not found any cons as of yet. Is the grass greener on the other side? I say not always but then again what job does anyone have that there is not one or two things that is not liked. The last company I worked for, talked about family values but they did not show it. It is the best move I have made since being with LTD.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Looking forward to the growth as well.

    Pros

The compensation is fair, but make sure you get increase time frame in writing on your offer letter. Don't accept any bonus potential as the corporate team will seek reasons to not pay this out. The properties are nice and several of them have been recently renovated, but they only own 13 properties, not the 20+ they show on their website. Don't be fooled and think that you're walking into a larger company. This is by the very definition a "family run" small business.

    Cons

You are constantly reminded that you and your team are replaceable. Morale is perpetually low. One of the owners will openly direct corporate team members to "get rid" of director level property employees. You'll be reminded every day that the founder has been in business for 35 years and it's his way or the highway. The two founders' sons were all placed in executive positions right out of college and essentially lead the company. None of them have ever actually operated a hotel. Honestly it's like the blind forcefully leading the sighted. You'll be admonished for following brand direction. Ownership thinks they have the ability to negotiate everything because they pay franchise fees. You'll be asked to commit insurance fraud on insurance funded projects. If you aren't in the family that runs the company, you're an outsider regardless of your position. You'll need to accept that immediately. You'll know you're on the chopping block when ownership starts inviting legal into one on one meetings. You'll be forced to print old emails to cover yourself. Turnover is astronomical. Corporate employees routinely up and leave their desks, never to return. There have been changes to the benefit package recently that make previous posts obsolete. The package used to be a big selling point, now it's been stripped to save money, just like everything else and is below average, at best. If you're a corporate employee and have direct interaction with the owners know that there is a serious language barrier. You'll get incredibly frustrated trying to get a point across just to be shut down and sent away. You'll feel no job security. You'll be directed to do things in the cheapest way possible, even if that means sacrificing quality and longevity. Don't waste your time or effort. I was offered a job after leaving LTD with another local management company and truly found out then what the hospitality community thinks of LTD. It's not good. Overall there are bright spots, but they're few and far between. I would never recommend anyone work for this company. They've made a push recently to erase all their old issues (losing hotels / flags, not paying bills) but it's all for show. They still have several hotels that are in serious brand trouble. They run their hotels and employees on the ragged edge and it's not right. All of the family members leave the office at 3pm sharp, leaving everyone else to work until 5. Only then do you feel relief, but you have to wake up the next day and do it all over. It's a nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the idea that you own the world and are above your brands and employees. Coach employees rather than admonish them. One of the founders is a cancer. He absolutely ruins people. Morale will not increase until he leaves permanently.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Reasonable pay, Good owners, reasonable benefits.

    Cons

No management solidarity, Racism, misconduct, corruption, health violations, poor turn over rates, the more management change the worse establishment was run. A potential lawsuit if not any in progress, I see in their future

    Advice to Management

Think about the people who keeps the establishment running, instead of yourselves and your bonus pay. Treat employees with respect and not like garbage based on the color of their skin or where they reside... they are human beings and not dogs. Give recognition more often based on what's seen and not heard. Show more hospitality.

I have been working at LTD Hospitality full-time

    Pros

If you are a trained, hard working sales professional looking for advancement opportunities LTD is a great place to be. You are given space to show what you can do and once proven, the opportunity to advance within. They are very generous with their PTO allotments which results in a good work/life balance.

    Cons

High expectations with limited training opportunities for new Sales Managers. If you find a good mentor within the company you will be fine.

The managers who don't do well in the company seem to be those just starting in sales, lazy managers, and those that depend entirely on their charm to get by.
