I have been working at LV= full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Loads of opportunities to demonstrate capabilities and skills that aren't necessarily needed in your day to day
    - Pleasant office to work in, perfectly located for people living in Bournemouth / Poole area
    - Decent pay for a 9-5 kind of job
    - Good bonus scheme and staff benefits, like pension and private healthcare

    Cons

    - Recruitment for senior positions tends to be external rather than looking within for up and coming talent

    Advice to Management

    - Take time to understand aspirations of everyone in the team and create plans and give practical advice to help them realise their ambitions

I have been working at LV= part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I've always enjoyed working at LV=. I've been lucky enough to get a career break after my first year and have been given new opportunities along the way.

    Cons

I don't feel very valued or taken seriously that I want to progress my career. I've not been given any opportunities for a while and feel stagnant in my role.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your people managers are up to the job and if they're not, tackle this, give then feedback. Not everyone is confident enough to speak directly to their manager if they feel there is a problem but when it's expressed to others something should be done.

I have been working at LV= full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, great career progression and lots of places to get support from.

    Cons

Long wait for car parking, but at least there is park and ride.

    Advice to Management

Young employees, like me, need lots of support in career progression, the more opportunities the better.

I have been working at LV= full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff are mostly friendly. The people you work with are brilliant and you do feel a part of a community.

    Cons

Can be stressful, particularly when busy, although the organisation does have processes in place to support you.

Bad decisions that can have detrimental impact on both our performance and the service we provide are often made without consulting the staff it affects, although this is not always the case.
In other words, you sometimes feel ignored by management when you speak up.

The opportunities for progression are slim, although it isn't as bad as other companies.

    Advice to Management

Get back in touch with your frontline staff. Spend three months on the phone answering customer queries and following the processes you are creating, or at least put the changes past a trusted member of staff with recent experience on the phones so that issues an be worked through.

    I worked at LV= full-time

    Pros

    The people at your level.

    Cons

Management are very underhand. As a lower level employee you are made to feel just like that, expendable. The higher ups will lie and keep vital information from you.

In regards to promotion forget it... Unless your one of the managers favourites.

Moral on the floor is at a all time low pay is poor and the hours aren't great!

    Advice to Management

Review pay, also look beyond your favourite few chosen ones. There is alot of talent on that floor that get over looked because they choose to not suck up to you.

    Pros

Exceptional customer commitment and employee investment. Great Values and very supportive management

Lots of changes and restructuring going on all the time
Massive open plan offices that have a constant level of noise that can become tiresom and no privacy for normal desk conversation

    Advice to Management

Consider the environment for specialist teams
Provide small pods to allow for confidential conversation or sensitive telephone conversation
