I have been working at La Cantera Resort part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The scenery is beautiful and the tips are good in the summer at nights. You also get a nice bonus just for working there. Employee discounts on rooms are good but on the property are decent, you get 25% off food and that's whether you're working or eating there.

    Cons

-Management has changed more times than I can count.
-Servers get paid DRASTICALLY LESS than bartenders by more than $5/hour plus they get their own tips and tip out while servers get $2.50 and it does not change in the offseason, even when you make less than $50 a shift or even no tables at all.
-Upper management, our manager's bosses, controls restaurants' hours for the season, but NEVER realize that it affects the restaurant negatively when we open earlier and no one comes in, which is a waste of time for the managers and employees working.
-There is no actual form of employment, like IDs, so discounts are hard to get when going to food outlets or getting discounts from the golf course, spa, and apparel to buy
-Tips are a hit and miss, some foreigners tip well, others can tip $5 or 10%. Also, people who get discounts are horrible tippers sometimes, I even got a current employee who works on the property tip me $10 with a 25% of employee discount when it was originally a $100+ check when she came in with her family of more than 4 people. Sometimes they just think that because they work on property that they don't need to tip.
-There's such a small amount of employees that management may schedule you to their requirements/needs and not your availability.

    Advice to Management

Management is not as bad as it has been but certainly isn't the best. Also, our manager's bosses micromanage so much and seem they rarely even listen to our input on things. I feel as if our turnover rate for employees is just as high for managers. Our surveys for how we feel about our managers during the year always confuse us because we change GMs at least 2 times a year, at a minimum.

I worked at La Cantera Resort part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful scenery, seemingly pleasant employees, potential of great cash flow, paid orientation.

    Cons

One of the managers, a male, tricked me into having a date in the resort’s Primero restaurant. I was told we were having an employee meeting, when I showed up it was only us two. He also kissed my cheek excessively and made unnecessary bodily contact. I was unjustly fired because another manager, and her own disorganization. I was not assigned a clock in number, but was told to come to work and she would sort out my tips herself. I worked for the day, and she never got my tips for me. I worked an 8 hour shift for free. I still to this day never received my earned money, another manager told me it was “lost in the system” when I filed a paper about it. I refuse to work for free, so I told her I wouldn’t come to work until I get a clock in number. She then ignored my messages and filed me as a no-show. A week later, the touchy feely manager, told me I was fired. He ignored me when I explained myself to him, yet tried to add me on other social media platforms days later. The wait staff is ever changing, but about half of my coworkers were not easy to get along with. The orientation is also 2 days, about 8 hours each day. I invested a lot of time getting started only for it to turn into a disaster.

    Advice to Management

Act PROFESSIONALLY, do not sexually harass employees, and treat them fairly
