I have been working at La-Z-Boy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice work environment, close coworker relations, best quality furniture in the business, beautiful store, great compensation, different every day..keeps it interesting

    Cons

A little stressful at times, but not really a con. The job is so rewarding that it’s worth it

    Advice to Management

2 years ago this would have been far different and much less positive. But this company has taken many positive steps in the right direction regarding upper management involvement and leadership.

I worked at La-Z-Boy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good benefits and okay compensation. Certain managers went above and beyond.

    Cons

Not the best pay for the work completed each day. Very complicated product knowledge. No service desk. Warehouse was disorganized. Certain managers were immature and kind of lazy.

    Advice to Management

Exclude personal details about your life. Be more organized with daily tasks. Do not put on unwanted chores on certain people. Please do not take advantage of people.

I worked at La-Z-Boy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Full benefits, great clients, mostly happy

    Cons

full commission - lean months are lean; quality control at factory level is horrible and consequently leaves the sales person regularly in a lurch to fix or reorder - waste of resources.

I have been working at La-Z-Boy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You have control over how much you make. Training is always ongoing. Regional sales reps are very helpful and the customers can be very enjoyable to work with.

    Cons

Working holidays and weekends is a must. Their are slow times that you have to plan for.

I have been working at La-Z-Boy part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Not particularly physically demanding, and you get to meet and help many different people.

    Cons

The quality of pay is only as good as the sales, and store traffic is inconsistent, so it tends to be unreliable.

I worked at La-Z-Boy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

none Pay is too low, minimum wage and you have to sell a lot to get commission

    Cons

unprofessional unfair Management has favorites DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. Management goofed alot with Sales Associates and had favorites who were allowed to behave unprofessional and have poor attendance with no consequences. However if you are a new Sales Associate you will be nit picked and if your are not a favorite of management you will be terminated for no reason atall probably before your probation period is over. This was the most unprofessional and unfair company I have ever worked with. I was also told many inappropriate things by another Sales Associate and management terminated me for telling on the sales Associate. RUN

I have been working at La-Z-Boy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Potential to make good money. There is rarely anyone that quits or gets fired- Ever. Very small family owned company. Leniency for emergency time off is the best part about working here. They are very understanding within reason. Great staff to work with for the most part. Family oriented environment. Makes u feel very welcomed. The dynamic at every store is different so pay attention to reviews for each store.

    Cons

Back end of business is not handled very well. Ie. Deliveries are not handled professionally nor is service. Not enough pay for hourly employees. Issues on floor are never addressed. Rules do not apply for everybody unless your a million dollar writer, in which case you can do whatever u want. It's either feast or famine. There is no in between. Summers are not at all lucrative but goals are still extremely high. Unachievable goals are everybodys biggest complaint. HR is a joke also as it is the owners "friend" and so its biased.

    Advice to Management

Favoritism for certain employees is uncouth and unfair to those who follow the rules. Lack of discipline for serious offenses should be addressed.

    Pros

    Good products, nice store.

    Cons

High expectations, low flow of customers

    Advice to Management

Train your new hires properly. Change, improve your archaic systems and care about your employees. So many products to learn about...and expectations without training well is a futile. Never received two day training at their training center.
