I worked at LaMar's Donuts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some decent benefits: Health and Dental benefits are fairly good.

    Cons

Very high turn over Stores are in need of GM's. Managers don't last, due to staffing problems. Most of the stores are understaffed. The corporate office is a joke,The owner wants to micromanage all aspects of the business. Owner does not allow any autonomy for the managers to do their jobs, everything has to be approved by the owner. Very difficult to staff the stores, the pay is very low for most positions....

    Advice to Management

Stop the micromanaging, let the managers do their jobs. Pay your employees better wages. Have a matching 401K Treat employees better, so they can last longer.

I worked at LaMar's Donuts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing coworkers and friends. Free uniform. Shifts are flexible if a day off is needed in advance. Shift managers change a lot- opportunities to move up. Holidays off, or shorter shifts. Easy to pick up the job.

    Cons

Repetitive. Moody male boss. Early, early shifts. Unsafe company vehicle. Many deliveries don't tip (including COO).

    Advice to Management

Stop gossiping about my coworkers to my coworkers. Stop playing favorites. Stop always saying "I'm always right." Stop giving employees the silent treatment when you're upset with them. Stop boasting when you handle a situation well- each one should be handled well. Stop comparing my lack of sleep to your lack of sleep. Start listening to the reasoning behind your employees decisions - we have impressive ideas. Start...

    "Decent job for experience."

    StarStarStarStarStar
      Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

      I worked at LaMar's Donuts

      Pros

First shift hours (5:30am-3pm). Free nights. Free donuts. Free coffee. Fun staff to work with. Easy job. Don't have to work holidays. Has the potential to be a successful large scale company.

      Cons

Little to no support from upper management. Company is structured horribly. Store managers function as GM's. (Operation Manager's at the corporate office focus more on messing around and making phone calls than helping stores get staffed.) Most shift leads/customer service at other fast food chains make more than managers do hourly at Lamars. Use your experience handling deposits and cash outs to get a job as a teller...

      Advice to Management

Focus upper management on helping managers get staffed rather than leaving it up to store managers salaried at $10/hr to be hiring manager, CSR, Cashier, etc. The only way your small scale company will ever grow is by getting current stores under control.

        I worked at LaMar's Donuts

        Pros

        Easy to do, sometimes fun.

        Cons

Minimum wage, sometimes there is nothing to do. Complaining and stupid customers.

        Advice to Management

They should get back to potential employees sooner than 5 months after they apply.
