I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for less than a year

    Pros

From day one it has been obvious LaSalle has something different and unique happening. There is a ton of communication. The CEO, Tom Gimbel, has been incredibly transparent and engaged at all levels. My role as PMO Manger is to come in and initiate change management. This is usually scary and uncertain for people. However, everyone has been warm, welcoming, and excited about the plans we are working on. They collectively...

    Cons

The chairs outside Tom's office should be Cardinal's instead of Cubs :) Other than that I have zero complaints.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great communication and transparency. I appreciate the humor and fun mixed in with the messages. Even with the fast growth make sure everyone has an opportunity (hopefully different than mine - physically speaking) to know that they are one of us and we take care of our own.

I worked at LaSalle Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people that you meet, and work with, can be some of the most energetic and motivating people. LaSalle does a very good job of creating an inter-team culture that helps to create close relationships. Additionally, most of the people at the company do care about the company's success. Some people are nice and approachable, although there's a good chunk of people that can seem outright mean. Training and development...

    Cons

A common answer for why LaSalle is great is the culture, however I would have to disagree. I think that the culture is intending to be something that it's not. Overall, it feels as though if you are not 100% sold on the company, are not okay with working long hours, are not constantly smiling or excited to be at work, and are not screaming and hyped up at the weekly meetings, that you are ruining the culture for everyone...

    Advice to Management

Some of the best hires that have been made, especially on the management side, have been from outside organizations. Really consider bringing on more outside candidates as they bring a different perspective than people promoted from within. This is especially so when you want to find people that have similar traits culture-wise, but a different viewpoint on how a company and coworkers should behave. It is possible...

This is such an articulate, well written review. I believe this type of review is how Glassdooor was intended and I greatly appreciate your feedback. I agree, there can be cliques and that sucks. It’s hard and it exists within every organization, including ours. I read and attend ...

I have been working at LaSalle Network for more than 5 years

    Pros

Access to leadership team, trust and ability to run book of business, collaborative, great co-workers and fun, hard working environment.

    Cons

To achieve success you have to put in the time and hard work which sometimes means 50-60 hour work weeks.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving in the right direction! Listen to input and continue to implement the right changes.

I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The culture here is unbelievable. I did not understand it at first, but over my 18 months here I have come to learn why people stick around for so long in a industry that is known for high turnover. The management team is extremely supportive and help is offered whenever needed. I never thought I would get into recruiting when I graduated college, but LaSalle has made me fall in love with the job. I can't imagine working...

This is truly a work hard/play hard environment. I know it is cliche, but it is the truth. You get a lot of perks, but they are well earned.

    Advice to Management

Continue supporting your employees and building a great team. This place may not be for everyone, but the people who enjoy the culture will stick around for a long time.

I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun people within the company Easy access to leadership

    Cons

If you don't live and breathe the culture, people look down on you. Extremely long work hours with little flexibility during the day to work away from your desk or work from home. You are on a "bell schedule" if you will with 8-6 hours minimum, having to ask permission to leave any earlier or arrive any later than that. Felt like I was being babysat the entire time. People tell you what to do and what to work on and...

    Advice to Management

Stop babysitting your employees & monitoring everything they do so closely. If you can't trust employees to get work done while they are there then don't hire them. No one wants to be micromanaged the way we are here.

I’m sorry you feel that way. After a year I would think you have stayed for positive reasons. All I can ask is that you make meeting session with HR to share your direct problems so we can help you and make it a better environment, if possible. Regarding micromanagement, we hire ...

I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

LaSalle Network is a great place to work for a variety of reasons. I think the most important thing is that we are a family. Everyone works together both professionally and personally. We celebrate the good things and help each other through the bad. LaSalle Network is very team based which is a great way for us to get our candidates placed and to support our clients. My other favorite part about the company is how...

I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for less than a year

    Pros

LaSalle Network is a company that always pushes you to improve and continuously learn. It is a work place that you can be yourself and know that you are welcomed and appreciated. If you are looking for unlimited growth opportunities and a work hard/play hard environment, LaSalle Network is most definitely the place.

    Cons

If you are looking for a job that is 8-5, this is not the job for you. To succeed and do well in this industry, you have to work outside the "normal" business hours to connect with people. Not necessarily a con - but something to be aware of.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for all you all do! The fact that the CEO and the rest of the Executive Leadership Team knows everyone at the company by name and is always touching base to see how things are is amazing.

I worked at LaSalle Network for more than a year

    Pros

I worked at LaSalle for 2 years and recently left. The people there are what make it one of the best places to work in Chicago. Everyone there is smart, kind, and hard working. Its a very easy place to walk into every morning. I left LaSalle because third party recruiting was no longer for me and wanted to change career paths. I had a number of open and honest conversations with our C-suite and management about my long...

    Cons

The hours are rough if you're facing a long commute. They are not strictly "8 am - 6 pm", you're very likely to work outside of that. Combine that with the tight PTO plan and people's work life balance often suffers. People usually look past this because of the company's great culture, but if you value a strong work life balance it may not be the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep bringing in great people and being transparent from the top down! It really is what makes LaSalle Network so special.

    Pros

I wouldn’t work here. Starter job for some cash, but find other companies that are more mature and professional when you’re ready to make a move.

    Cons

Do you still start your recruiters/pms at $14/hr working 8-6:30 with no work life balance?

    Advice to Management

    Focus on favoritism.

I worked at LaSalle Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

open work environment, approachable management, room for growth, fun culture. The management team really cares and people are passionate about the company.

    Cons

work/life balance. the people that work here are hard working and if they were trusted to get their work done in the hours that worked best for them, I think they would be even more successful. It's common for people to cry at work. I think that's a sign of people being over-worked.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees - you hired them for a reason. So much time is wasted when people have to stay for at least 10 hours a day. Imagine if you let people go once their work was done and covered, productivity would be sure to rise. People are leaving because of work/life balance, yet no one ever talks about it. Calling people out in front of the whole company also isn't as much of a learning experience as it could be...
