I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Anything I’ve wanted to achieve at LaSalle, I’ve been able to... not without hard work and it wasn’t spoon fed to me, but I feel LaSalle has done a good job of listening to me, understanding me, and giving me the tools and the path to earn the money or the promotion that I wanted. It wasn’t easy, but as with anything good in life - you have to work for it. My mom always told me growing up “control your career”, and...

    Cons

    - vacation days. It’s a pretty standard package to start, but we do work really hard... would love to see a little more flexibility on vacation or time out of the office as needed. - I see other people write in this section that this job isn’t a 9-5... what job is anymore?? The hours don’t bother me.

    Advice to Management

    - I don’t see ELT as often as other people say they do. I’d love to have more of a relationship with our executives like it seems a lot of the more tenured folks have. I know that comes in time and is on us to connect with you too but maybe by being visible in the office more often some of us newer folks would be less intimidated to get to know you when we do see you. Other then our cfo and head of HR, I really don’t...

    Pros

This company, in my opinion, is one of the best companies to start a career in recruiting within the Chicagoland area. For what it is and who it predominately recruits, recent college graduates or entry-level recruiters who want exposure to the industry, it's great! However, what most people don't fully comprehend prior to joining LaSalle is that this is a B2B company that relies on YOU to make placements in order to...

I worked at LaSalle Network full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

      Pay and location are decent

      Cons

If you enjoy working in a company that revolves around the cult like atmosphere of a narcissistic CEO where everyone must drink his version of the Jonestown koolaide then this place is for you. Lots of very questionable activity with a car salesman’s approach to recruitment.

      Advice to Management

I think the above is sufficient

I have a few thoughts here. 1. When did Glassdoor (and Yelp) become a place to just trash a company or business rather than give insightful critique, positive and negative? 2. If our company is such a terrible place, why did you stay for three years? 3. Cult is the first ...

I worked at LaSalle Network full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Can’t think of any but I have to provide 5 pros. Free food, free beer, fun parties, incentive trip, you get a free backpack when you start.

      Cons

Don’t have a structured bonus plan, encourage dating in the work place, encourage binge drinking and partying, clicky, expect you to answer calls and emails no matter what time with no cell phone reimbursement, have to ask your manager if you can leave at 6pm, no work life balance, constant rumors being spread, CEO constantly brags about how much he spends on parties and food for the company, pretty tacky.

      Advice to Management

Treat your employees better overall, not just your favorites.

      LaSalle Network Response

      November 12, 2018President & CEO

I guess I’ll start with the fabrications. Office dating is not encouraged at all. It exists in every company and rather have a policy forbidding it and making people lie, we acknowledge it may happen and ask people to behave like adults. Sometimes people don’t, however we have ...

I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time for less than a year

      Pros

I appreciate the collaborative environment that is structured around teamwork. People aren't belittled for making mistakes, and instead, you'll discuss "learns" with your team so that everyone can improve best practices. It makes the long days go by more quickly when you are encouraged to interact with your team and other colleagues.

      Cons

Very hard to find work-life balance. Minimum 50-hour work week with the expectation that you'll put in more hours and be available offline in order to be considered an above average performer.

      Advice to Management

Hitting a high-volume metrics goal isn't always as valuable as quality of work and taking the time to give strategic thought to recruiting and client service.

      September 16, 2017President & CEO

From your title, I'd infer you are new(er) to the organization. In your first 30, 60, 90 days, hitting metrics is crucial. It sets the foundation for your work product and performance in the months and years to come. It helps ensure you hit bonus and can grow and earn more. Early ...

I have been working at LaSalle Network full-time

      Pros

I've made great friends and we have a young vibrant work culture Business casual environment is nice Relative autonomy in your role once up and running We have great resources + the technology/equipment we use is very up to date

      Cons

Like any commission/bonus heavy role, the incentive structure encourages you to work 10-12 hour days. You must be willing to take important calls, talk to a great candidate, as well as coordinate urgent interviews during evening/night hours. This is a fact of life at any agency based recruiting role and not LaSalle Specific. Just something for prospective employees to understand coming in!

      Advice to Management

We just ran a white paper that explains how new college grads and millennials really value work life balance and flexibility. I think we do a good job about being flexible in certain aspects - allowing employees to run to the bank or a doctors appointment with out taking the day off, but the PTO policy is standard, not competitive, and there is now work from home or summer half day policy. Let's act on our own primary...

      Pros

Amazing culture, I love working with people who actually care about me and want to make me better. I don't know very many companies where your CEO sends you a text when you're not feeling well.. truly a family atmosphere. We work very hard and we play hard too! In addition to our culture, there is a great potential for growth. I was promoted after 4 months, it is great to be rewarded for your hard work and you sure get...

      Cons

The work life balance isn't great but it's the nature of the business. So, if you don't want to work hard then LaSalle probably isn't for you.. but that's ok!

      Advice to Management

The accesses to management is incredible but as we continue to grow, continue to make time for one on one meetings with employees so we can continue to learn and get individual attention.
