I have been working at Labatt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Not many to choose from

    Cons

This company thinks it's drivers are a dime a dozen, they think that workers lives revolves around the company. They have a company manual with all the company regulations, that they change when it's convenient for them. They make company drivers come in to work, off the clock and without pay, if you complain they will terminate you for insubordination. Vacations can only be taken when they give you permission, there are some drivers that have asked for them ten years in advance. They don't take care of the trucks and trailers and want drivers to use them anyway, but if you take it and get a DOT violation, then it's your ticket. They won't replace tires and windshields because it's too expensive and it is your fault for tailgating, the trucks only so 64 mph. It doesnt matter how many years you work here or how good you are at your job, they won't give you a decent raise.

    Advice to Management

    None, it doesn't matter.

    I worked at Labatt full-time

    Pros

There are some great perks to working for Labatt, especially if you are in a good location. Advancement opportunities are also good, depending on where you are located and how mobile you are.

    Cons

The plant in question was one of the most toxic work environments I have ever had the displeasure of being a part of. The animosity here is palpable.

    Advice to Management

Management has lost all control of the plant. Engagement and morale are at an all-time low. No respect for one another. No accountability for any actions. The most important areas of the business are being neglected to the point of no return.

    Pros

Great start out of college. Comfortable place to call home. Management is very friendly and accomodating. Most upper management have been with the company over 10 years. Most of the professional employee base are young in the low to mid 20s but are a selection of intelligent individuals. Plenty of room to be creative with your position and present new and interesting ideas to be considered realistically by management.

    Cons

Low training opportunities. Software and systems are out of date and unused in large business. Advancement potential is slightly lower because most managers have been there for a very long time. A Pro in the sense that people stay, a con in the sense of advancement... However, the managers now were advanced at some point as well. Biggest concern is the desire to grow the company. Labatt is below average industry growth.

    Advice to Management

They treat employees wonderfully. All senior managers are very approachable and helpful.

    Never a dull day
    Fast passed

    Cons

Weak new employee onboarding - sink or swim
Not working overtime is frowned upon
Hard to become permanent, some are on contract for years
They ask more then they give
Little or no socialising outside of pub nights at work

    Advice to Management

New employees onboarding needs to improve
People need more recognition for their work
