I have been working at Lady Jane's Haircuts full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Having set days and hours has been the best thing for me! I can plan out my life, and not have to stress about my schedule changing. So much opportunity and growth. I have been with LJ just a little over 2 years, and within that time period I moved to key holder pretty quickly, and within a year I moved into management, and shortly after became a travel trainer as well! There's so much positivity and support through...

I worked at Lady Jane's Haircuts full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    You can pick your schedule.

    Cons

Lower than average commission rate for the industry, objectifying toward women, if you are being sexually harassed you aren't allowed to ban clients from salon, corporate is useless, my store was falling apart and they didn't care. Force you to work even when there's no clients and you are literally making zero dollars. They will hire anyone- I can't tell you how many drug addicts I've worked with who do drugs in the...

I have been working at Lady Jane's Haircuts full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

A fun atmosphere of talented stylists who support one another in their craft of cutting and styling men’s hair. Ample growth opportunities and a supportive management staff that encourage you to be the stylist you aim to be, challenging you to grow in your skills and professionalism at either a store level or even further if you work hard for it. TVs with sports in the waiting area and at every stylist station for client...

    Cons

I’m reaching here by listing a con because I genuinely cannot think of something that warrants criticism or that I whole heartedly disagree with. If I had to say anything it would be that one day a week they could be closed to the public but I don’t even have a suggestion for which day. Traditional barber shops tend to be closed for business Sundays and/or Mondays and that fact alone drives business for a shop like a...

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest recognition toward management and hard working stylists. Accountability structure and support for management at store level. Exercise the right to weed out those who display consistent lack of integrity.

I worked at Lady Jane's Haircuts full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

You get paid daily in cash

    Cons

Your a contract 1099 employee and the managers constantly micro manage you. You have to pay all of your own taxes. You have to wear dresses certain days no matter what. Getting any time off can be nearly impossible. You arent allowed to leave the building during your 10 hour shift.

    Advice to Management

Treat people as contractors. Treat your employees good and your clients will be happy.

      I worked at Lady Jane's Haircuts part-time

      Pros

Coworkers were great girls. Leave with cash daily.

      Cons

The commission rate was the lowest of anywhere I have worked. You are also treated like an employee as far as required hours and rules but paid like an independent contractor. The hours are long. They put your picture on the check in screen where the guys can choose their stylist which feels a bit a like meat on a menu.
