I have been working at Lafayette General Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Best place for employees to work, patients to receive care, and physicians to practice medicine. The culture speaks for itself. We strive to treat every patient like a family member.

    Cons

Volume can be overwhelming at times.

    Advice to Management

Leadership training is top notch. No other hospital I've worked for has taken the time and effort to make sure leaders are the best they can be so that employees have what they deserve. Excellent!

    Pros

Our Standards of Behavior (values) outline each of our actions as healthcare providers in the LGH system. These standards create a positive work environment for our peers and a positive outcome for our patients.

    Cons

Not one of the higher paying systems in our region, but the difference is made up by getting to work alongside some of the most caring, vibrant, and supportive healthcare workers in the country. Most who negatively review LGH on this particular website/app are the ones who don't fit in our culture. They complain because they haven't adapted to doing more with less and bringing it all back to the patient (the reason we are called to this field).

    Advice to Management

    Hold your employees accountable.

I have been working at Lafayette General Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work is recognized, celebrated and rewarded at every level. There is a strong sense of teamwork that stems from ongoing support and encouragement from senior leaders.

    Cons

    No real cons.
This is a tough question to answer because I don't feel I have to "settle" for anything by working here.

    Advice to Management

True leaders focus on the development of other leaders and that practice is evident at LGH. Keep up the great work!
