Pros
Gained experience at a level 1 trauma center without having to drive into the city.
Cons
Nurse to patient ratios are extremely unsafe and there are hardly any support staff to help out. Even in critical care, this hospital is pushing the legal limit for patient safety. RNs at other hospitals would have 1:1 ratio with CRRT, IABP, VADs, and traumas but at this hospital, the nurse often has other responsibilities. Nursing leadership is never available even during daytime hours. Night shift has zero support. Limited education opportunities because there are no unit educators. Pay is better at smaller hospitals with less acuity.

Lots of learning opportunities, limited financial growth/advancement

There are always positions open in various sections of the lab, so if you want to learn a new set of skills, then it's likely that you could move departments, regardless of your certifications. The training is very thorough and great for resume-building.
Cons
There is little to no pay increase as you get trained in new areas. You can maybe get promoted to a senior tech level after putting in a couple years of experience, but there's no room for financial growth/promotion after that, really.
