I have been working at Lake Regional Health System full-time

    Pros

Good year around work for locals, not bad benefits.

    Cons

Management out of touch with employees, don't really care. They want you when they want you and no flexibility because of high turnover. Not paying what they could be........

    Advice to Management

Cost of living raises, as well as yearly. Maybe allow more employees to work from home. Flexible schedules to balance home life. Get back in touch with employees.

I worked at Lake Regional Health System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Enjoyed my direct coworkers a lot! There are many very caring, hard working people on staff.

    Cons

Management cares about money more than staff/employees. Very unethical organization. Saw multiple employees lose their jobs for being "whistle-blowers" meaning upper management knows about and condones unethical practices, and the person who reports the wrongdoing is the one who gets punished. Upper management has thrived off of using intimidation techniques, and they are very disrespectful toward employees including providers and nurses. Very little acknowledgement for hard work. Always understaffed. Poor pay, very long hours with no breaks and often no lunch, and poor benefits (health insurance has high copays and deductibles). Often so understaffed that employees are told that they cannot have vacation days off even when request is submitted adequately in advance.

    Advice to Management

Terminate unethical behavior immediately. Stop sweeping things under the rug. Reward the people that are trying to do the right thing instead of getting rid of them. Appreciate how hard all the staff works. Eliminate the "Good 'Ole Boys Club" attitude. Don't base managerial decisions solely on money. Make decisions that are in the best interests of the patients and staff. Care about people, not just business. Institute recommendations received from staff regarding day to day operations and work flow. Upper management needs to stop trying to make medical decisions that should only be made by providers and medical staff. Stop treating employees as though they are beneath you. Show more respect. Reward and acknowledge hard work. Improve salaries.

    Pros

Not a single thing I would recommend about certain parts of this company. Peter Rao is a amazingly nice person but other than that there are very few pros if any about this company.

    Cons

Office managers don't listen, can't keep confident information to themselves, spread rumors, break HIPPA, treats some employees like they walk on water and others like they are dirt. They aren't there to help when you need it, they talk down on you.

    HR is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Keep a closer eye on your managers and find a better way to keep employee health information unobtainable by their clinical managers especially when they aren't their patients.

    Pros

Nice people who are caring and compassionate to work with.

    Cons

Leadership focuses on money instead of quality. They are disconnected from employees and don't listen to feedback. Every department is short staffed and salaries are low.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employee feedback.

I have been working at Lake Regional Health System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Positive environment to work in. Friendly staff for the most part. Management tries to listen to staff input Easy parking and clean environment.

    Cons

Staffing is an issue at times; however, this is true in all hospitals. There needs to be more staff on the inpatient floors. Senior management does not interface with employees by touring the areas.

    Advice to Management

Continue to staff more at the bedside; that is where the patients needs are met.
