    Pros

Very easy, got to do homework, good way to meet all the students

    Cons

Boring at times, people ignore you, nothing really to do when wifi is out

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, it's a college job so no advice really needed

    Pros

Excellent staff and faculty. Very accommodating and gently show you the ropes with all the new technology that's appearing in modern classrooms.

    Cons

Location is near heavy construction on the freeway, so it's a bit toughto get there.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing! Everybody I work with at Lakeland is a happy camper.

I worked at Lakeland College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lakeland is an excellent college to work for. The support staff is excellent and very helpful if you have any questions or problems to resolve.

    Cons

I do not have any cons to report. The staff does an excellent job on helping the instructor achieve the goals and objects of the college.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the excellent job and continue to listen to both the students and instructors in order to make this a first class college.

    Pros

There are many very intelligent, high-quality, hard working faculty and staff who are committed to the mission and the students. Pay is fair.

    Cons

Recently, like many small colleges, the school has been facing serious financial challenges which has led to some people losing their jobs or people leaving. Progress under these conditions is hard.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work on communication with the college community. Make sure as many smart and creative people are included when trying to solve problems.

I have been working at Lakeland College as a contractor

    Pros

Part time. Online opportunities. Helps on resume.

    Cons

    Changes in last 5 years:
Reduced pro-rata salary base on attendance less than 5 employees.
No longer invited to Christmas dinner or gift.
Blend Ed courses are time consuming which is In-class AND on-line attendance but no increase in pay.
Lots of training that is required but not paid for.

    Advice to Management

    Increase the amount per contract.

I worked at Lakeland College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The interaction with every student and meeting new people every day was a thrill. It taught me different social lessons daily!

    Cons

Mainly the hours and compensation being that it was a on campus job I really did not worry about it.

    Advice to Management

Teach skills that would later on be developed in the work force.

I worked at Lakeland College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good and convenient location
International students smart and hard workers
Blackboard system works fine, even if it could be better, but might improve in new versions

    Cons

Team considering teachers as blue collar workers or meatballs
US students are arrogant for their level and systematically expect As to keep strangely high GPA always close to 4.0. Far from perfect, they are often of way lower level than foreign students and more demanding, real pains...
Classes are awarded at the last minute and adjuncts have no say in choosing the books of the class, usually very bad and out of reach for the level of Lakeland students. Besides, pre-class preparation is in consequence reduced to almost zero.
Way too much time commitment for the pay!

    Advice to Management

Let the adjunct choose their books, let them know enough in advance when you open classes, and consider them... they are after all your bread and butter considering the very small number of full time professor at Lakeland. Besides, your students are not 4.0 GPAs, open your eyes and grade them as they deserve, for most of them, in the low Bs.
