    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Lakeland Health full-time

    Pros

Employee support at all levels, acknowledgment that self care is as important as patient care, fantastic locations in Southwest Michigan.

    Cons

Senior leadership tends to stay at the main campus, maybe a pro for some folks.

    Advice to Management

    Don't forget the satellite locations.

I have been working at Lakeland Health

    Pros

Lakeland Health offers career development opportunities. CEO is committed to providing a positive experience for our patients. The organization proactively focuses on improving the quality of care they provide.

    Cons

CEO needs to spend more time with front end staff, especially those that work off-site. Some VPs are results oriented at the expense of the employees. Senior leadership "encourages" staff to be innovative and engaged with transforming healthcare. However, some VPs have personnel agendas. If your ideas do not support their personnel ambitions you are seen as "problem". Too many leaders are not held accountable to follow the TRAITS.

    Advice to Management

CEO needs to hold his VPs accountable for their behaviors. The infighting at the senior leadership level trickles down to front end staff. VPs do not want to hear the truth about how their department is functioning. This makes it very difficult to improve broken processes or to implement innovative ideas or change. Lakeland Health has a lot of talented individuals that are not recognized for their creativity in improving the quality of care they provide.

I worked at Lakeland Health for more than 3 years

    Pros

Close to home. But is the only game in town if you live in the area.

    Cons

The worst HR function of anywhere I have worked in 25+ years. Senior leadership needs complete wipe out. Middle management - lots of waste.

    Advice to Management

Stop wringing your hands about why associate engagement and leadership engagment scores are so low and why patient experience scores are embarrassing. Take action or sell to Spectrum before it is too .
