    Pros

People are very helpful and polite.
Product is intricate and presents a lot of learning opportunities.
    Ethnically diverse workplace.
    Extra curricular activities.

    Cons

I was let go in a very unprofessional manner and without any warning. I was told on the morning of my last day at Lam by superior off site manager that today would be my last day. My manager at Lam mentioned nothing about it. The manager didnt even sit down with me to discuss the causes of ending my contract as companies do professionally.

    Pros

Technology is the only think that holds this company. Wall Street artificially inflated the stock to keep the company grow. It is about to crash and crash really bad.

    Cons

Culture, interdepartmental politics and friction, competition between managers, directors and almost everyone for more influence, power, control, money and entitlements. Bad slave work environment, rigged and hypocritical relationships between top management and bottom management and worker bees.

    Advice to Management

Get your priorities strait, give the people freedom to work in peace and help each other, promote team work not individualism.

    Pros

A lot of good people work there

    Cons

Ethics of how they treat their vendors, especially in supply chain. They stain new employees by stating how bad some vendors are, a lot of itare untrue, hence my ethical concerns.

    Advice to Management

go through your supply chain folks. Find ut who their favorite and least favorite vendors are. Then make them back it up.

I worked at Lam Research full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits compared to other companies in the industry.

Can have a good career path if you are an engineer.

    Cons

Horrible executive team. They give zero respect to employees and scream at you constantly making it miserable to work at.

There are way to many levels to get things approved that it slows down business.

    Extremely top heavy.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at how horrible the culture is and fit. The CEO is one of the rudest people to work with. Someone needs to get a back bone and tell him how highly inappropriate he behaves.

    Pros

The engineers are great people. They are hard working, intelligent, and friendly.

    Cons

-Management does not respect their employees. They put their shareholders and themselves first before considering the impact to the employees. They are slave drivers without any empathy.
-Limited resources are available for a growing company and expanding lab. This is why engineers suffer - because they have to use what little resources are available - and they do the work of 3 people.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees with respect.

I worked at Lam Research as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

They pay their contractors and regular full-time employees well. Benefits and profit sharing are great when you become perm.

    Cons

Training is non-existent. Work environment sucks! Everyone is overloaded and burned out. No professionalism, no work/life balance, and absolutely no room for advancement. They will extend your contract, lay you off or keep bringing you back as a temp, but they will never convert you to perm...very disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro-managing and focus on areas that really need help. Need to recognize hard working employees and promote within.

    Cons

Toxic, caustic work environment. Especially in HR. Whole leadership team in HR are terrifying to their subordinates. They create a caustic and toxic environment and people keep leaving. They set a terrible example for the company.

    Advice to Management

Clean house in HR - starts at the top - CHECK OUT THE TURNOVER RATES IN HR! They are the highest in the company for a reason.
