I worked at Lan Airlines full-time

    Pros

Some benefits, starting at 6 months old in the company

    Cons

The work environment is far from ideal. Managers won't motivate people and you wont be well compensated, because you have travel benefits that might work for people having better income than you.

I have been working at Lan Airlines full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Learned to Lead with passion for team building, personal development of my staff and working across interdisciplinary environments
And learned to lead in change management, continuous improvement, LEAN application and tactical operations.

    Cons

Probably the thing that can be improve in this company is to have more interaction with other areas so everyone can learn more from other co-workers, and that will be a benefit for the employee and the company.

I worked at Lan Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You're always surrounded by pretty cool people, very efficient and always helpful.
The advantages of traveling everywhere in the world by paying a minimum fare are very appealing, especially if you're young with no kids. I absolutely recommend this company.

    Cons

Probably the lack of transparency in terms of selection processes. Some people are promoted randomly with no explanation whatsoever to the other people that are part of the process.

    Advice to Management

Try to be as transparent as possible to the people that work in direct contact with the clients. They are the face of the company (cabin crew, airport agents, sales offices), so if they feel respected the company will thrive.

I worked at Lan Airlines full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to know deeply how the airline business works. It is a good opportunity for learning, improving analytical and decision making skills. I won't say it is easy, for doing an outstanding job you better study at home. I recommend to dedicate extra time studying the first weeks, and as in many places, take advantage of your first months for asking EVERYTHING because then, everything is put in practice and nobody will see you as the new with the card of beginners questions. This is basically because in this role there is a lot of responsibility and you better plant confidence in your colleagues the sooner. It's a challenging area in a young competitive environment.

    Cons

Even though there are training programs, self studying is required, and if you are new in the airlines business, with more reasons. Revenue management has a lot of theory behind so you may do your own researches. This is not a contra for me at all, but just want to aware. Be pro-active, nobody will come to help unless you ask for help.

    Advice to Management

Study, dedicate time to learn fast, manage well your time and try to give your best for understanding everything your told.
