I have been working at Lan Cargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The team is one of the best ive ever work, they help each other as much as they can and you learn a lot from this experience

    Cons

The schedule is hell, you can be working from 11 night to 7 am in the morning and some supervisors can be rude with you anytime they want which sucks, also they only make you an official member of the company after a year so you wont have any benefits for over a year (so no vacations, insurance or tickets discounts for a year) and thats only is if they want to keep you

    Advice to Management

Reconsider the benefits time frame and make fair schedule for the majority of the team

I have been working at Lan Cargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can't really name any pros except that you get a yearly bonus (maybe get a bonus).

    Cons

Stay away from this company. I don't advise anyone to work here. They have you sign a contract for 2 years with Professional Aviation Management AKA Professional Business Concepts and if you leave before you would need to pay back about 5,000 dollars. Also upper management does not care about the mechanics. They overwork you with no pay increase, you feel like your working in a hostile and bad work environment, lack of communication, Shift changes every four months, supervisors are just there to follow orders and put mechanics at risk without using the proper equipment or tools . The company just hire mechanics from George T. baker. Company doesn't care if they loose mechanics or not, of course they always have George T.Baker students with no expeirence and they fall for the 2 yr contract with just about 19 an hour. This place is only good to get experience and move on to a much better company.

    Advice to Management

Start to communicate with your employees and care for your mechanics.

I worked at Lan Cargo (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great, they help counter the extremely stressful work environment.
You learn to work in a high paced workplace with extremely unrealistic demands.
    Good healthcare benefits.

    Cons

VERY low salaries compared to other companies, excused by the fact that they pay more for benefits. Which in most cases is not the case.
Airline benefits are horrible, takes you 6 months to be eligible and the amount of free tickets you get is limited to 2 per year which is ridiculous if you ask me.
Management LOVES to micro-manage, I'm talking about a Director asking a Jr. Analyst about day to day things.
Systems are archaic, filled with patches that nobody knows about thus adding extra, unnecessary workload to other areas.
Promotions are won by kissing tail, excuse my french, but that's the only way to put it. You have HORRIBLE people at the top KEY positions in most cases, earning HUGE salaries and all these so called "leaders" do is go into meetings all day long only to come down with extra work to pile on top of your very high pile of pending items.
They expect you to work over-time regularly, even as an exempt employee. Overtime in critical moments is fine, but not every day of the year.
    Career plan is non-existent.
Human Resources Business Partners don't care about employees, only management.
    I could go on.

    Advice to Management

Re-structure your management, there's a lot of unnecessary people sitting on top. You don't need a manager to over-look a team of 1 or even 2 analysts.
Throw the system to the trash and purchase or develop a new one that communicates with all areas properly.
Develop your employees, they aren't just pawns.
Treat your employees with respect, again, not just pawns.
Compensate your employees correctly, again...can't stress this enough, not just pawns.
You're stuck in a previous era were a resume was dictated by how many degrees an employee had, actually, experience is king in the modern world...treat those who've been with you for several years but have no degrees with respect, they are the building blocks of your institution and deserve to be given GOOD opportunities without having them feel as if they received a favor.
Management needs to sit down and learn the day to day stuff, it's not just a theory or numbers, real daily practice works very different than what you can write down in a memo or discuss in a meeting.
Limit your meetings to a certain percent of your time, you're a leader, you need to dedicate time to your team and do some work yourself...don't delegate all your workload so that you can look good in meetings after the analyst put your power point together, it's embarrassing.
And if an analyst DID put your stuff together to save your rear...then recognize him or her in said meeting and THANK them for their contribution.
I could go on, but not worth the time.

    Pros

No real pros in my opinion

    Cons

    Low pay
    No room to grow
    Lies
    Employees get treated terrible
No actual full time .. people worked full time they take away hours and they would give you the option to subsitute the hours with vacation time or sick days .. that began at the beginning of 2016 ..
You wont get vacation till your a year into the company AND THen thats when you start to accumulate vacation time ..
You wilk start with a higher pay once you become permanent they take away 2 dollars for benefits ..

    Advice to Management

Take into better consideration that your EMPLOYEE is the core of your buisness . They way they are treated is subpar.

    Pros

401k offering 25% matchup for the 6% of your salary.
Free flights subject to availability for Lan and Tam Airlines and One World, parents, siblings and personal family may be included in the plan.

    Cons

    Low salaries
    Low life quality for workers
    Nepotism in the area

    Advice to Management

Management should care for their workers and reward those that excel at their jobs. Working environment is a big issue and it is reflected in the high employee turnover that the company is constantly facing.
