Great company going down the tubes from horrible management choices.

      Pros

Employee loyalty beyond what it should be good for the people that are capable of doing their job, bad in the cases where the people are are incapable of doing their jobs.

      Cons

Horribly managed management. Too much turn around at the higher upper management w/ no turn around at the middle management level. There is a long list of handing over upper management positions to whomever is next in line. They went through a transition where they basically took everyone from Ingersoll Rand's upper management and w/in a year made huge purchases to Oracle that were over-budget, where the company did not have the capital to keep up the development and upgrade costs. Those who were in control moved to Safeway handed the reins down to lower Ingersoll management brought over and left the company basically w/ no-way to support the infrastructure and development that was implemented. Currently there is millions of dollars of equipment that is being unused because they cannot support the licensing costs while the employee's supporting the environments are being cut back and supporting more w/ less w/ no hope of upgrading properly. All projects that were put together to make these things better were axed and now not much of anything happens other than people leaving.

      Overall a decent company

      Pros

The management cares about their emploees. There are opportunities to be apart of projects if interested. They give back to the employees and have more diversity programs then before. Generally trying to be a more diversified company.

      Cons

There are no developed career paths. If you want to come to the company to grow that is extremely hard to do. The maternity leave is not goood at all for the size company that it is or trying to grow into. You only get 5 weeks partially paid. They do not offer any paternity leave. Recently when upper management has been asked about the maternity leave the try to avoid the question and say it is being worked on but does not offer any information on this. They are trying to promote women in the work place but are very far away from really doing that.

      Great internship

      Pros

Land O' Lakes really went out of their way to ensure that all interns have sufficient interactions with upper management and the projects felt challenging. Everyone who I met and interacted with was amazing and great friends during those three months.

      Cons

No on-campus gym and the cafeteria area was small with not many options.

      Pros

The way they value their employees. Work-life balance is value. Time off and vacation is very good. Upper management listens to employees.

      Cons

The salary compensation is lower than the industry averages. Many employees have been their a long time. They have a slight difficulty with change.

      Pros

Land O'Lakes realizes how difficult it can be to obtain talent that has the necessary experience and work ethic. They offer high compensation and benefits.

      Cons

Upper management in Land O'Lakes is all about cutting costs, like any company. However, too many of the upper level personnel lack critical agriculture experience, and only have business degrees.
